Replace Booker with Harden on the Suns and I bet he drags that team to the playoffs. Booker is a losing player and I can't wrap my mind for those of you that support acquiring a non-winning player.
Harden would have them in the playoffs for sure Harden with Beal and KD next to him likely has a similar record to us and the Grizzlies at worst Booker is a lot better than Jalen Green, but I don’t think he’d make us better than OKC, Denver, or the Lakers
Not desperate enough to pay Booker max money. I rather keep paying Jalen. Give me a winning player and I'll change my mind. Booker has only won in the bubble (when they had the incredible stretch to end the season in the bubble) and the two years of CP3 being in the Suns. Booker is not a winning player, I rather keep the Rockets as is than trade for Booker. I rather go after other targets.
I think the Lakers are fools gold for now with Luka not really playing up to his superstar level. Definitely not better than the Nuggets and OKC.
I agree with you 100%. But I feel that Tilman IS desperate enough to pay Booker the max. We’ll see if PHX wants to trade him at some point.
I think a lot of fans are a little slow to update to the NBA of 2025, and are mentally stuck on the NBA of 2022 or 2019 or 2016. Outside of a very short list of owners (like Ishbia) and a very short list of team situations, nobody wants to pay anyone the 35% max unless they are Jokic, Shai, Giannis level. The league has changed. There is essentially a hard cap now. The Suns' approach of "trade whatever and pay whatever to just get stars" is the cautionary tale hanging over the league. Zach LaVine has been better than Devin Booker for the last year, is paid less, is only 29... and was traded for nothing. That's the NBA in 2025 and beyond. "Stars" that are paid supermax or near-supermax contracts, are already at or past their peak, and aren't the absolute best of the best; these players just aren't super appealing to teams anymore.
So for those keeping track, "sources" are saying that the Suns could receive 7 FRPs and 2 rising stars for 37 year old Kevin Durant, and mid-level star Devin Booker. Got it.
IMO, this will get done. Jalen/Cam, 2 1st rounders and the Suns pick Devin Booker is in his prime and we are ready to win a champion ship the next 3 years.
Harden is a different type of player and we know harden can drag a regular season team into the NBA playoffs then not show up for the playoffs. I can be talked into Booker. I don’t think he’s a “losing player” but just not a true point guard or someone who can carry a team on his back into the playoffs. We don’t need him to be a Harden type of player though. I think he will fit in great with Sengun and Amen but I do worry about the cost in assets and contract
There is a cost to acquire Booker and he does not put us in contention for a championship so I definitely would not sacrifice good assets on him.
Of course there's a cost. But I don't see why that would automatically exclude us from championship contention? Our biggest need is scoring and offense.
Booker Thompson Brooks Jabari/Tari Sengun Does that make us contenders right away? No but that's a pretty balanced roster with room to grow as Thompson and Sengun develop. I'm not "Team Booker" but it's very interesting.
Is that a joke account? Knicks don't have a tradeable FRP, they don't have a rising star in their 3rd or 4th year, and Phoenix's GM is not Nico.
haha I had to check if it was nba centel. Knicks gonna find out quick this Villanova squad won’t work. Brunson I would get rid of asap. I wouldn’t trade 4 first for Booker. I feel he got into that Hollywood, I’m feeling myself already lifestyle. He doesn’t do it for me.
Not really high on Booker. I wasnt really high on Mitchell either. They are way behind Edwards and SGA. Would rather have Jalen Brown.
I would consider this trade: Houston out: Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, Fred Vanvleet (team option executed), all Suns draft capital back. Houston in: Devin Booker, Kevin Durant. The salaries work. We get upgrades (Jalen-Booker, and Jabari-Durant), become an instant contender, and keep a good balance between veterans and youngsters: Amen-Booker-Brooks-Durant-Sengun is a fantastic and balanced starting five. We still keep a good bench: Sheppard-Whitmore, Eason, Adams. We can also replace Brooks by Eason in the starting 5. Phoenix receives two players that were drafted 2 and 3 recently as a base for its reconstruction, veteran leadership in Vanvleet (and also his expiring contract is an asset), and recovers control on their future, with all their draft picks that we own, including a 12th or so pick in the 2025 draft. who says no?
