Well Brown is 39. I can't remember if it was Pimp or Hydra or someone else, but they went on and on about how great it was to get this loser. I sat there and thought to myself, "This guy is 39, injury-prone, a hothead and this is the best that the Yankees could do?" Also hard to believe that Steinbrenner couldn't get a dominant lefty reliever - one that could get Ortiz, Bellhorn, Varitek, Nixon, etc out.
I thought Brown was a great pickup. He was dominating early in the season, and then his back flared up. He came back from that and did okay, then he broke his hand. I think he will be a solid part of the rotation next year. I really thought Loaiza was going to be a good starter for the Yanks, now he was a disappointment.
I just don't understand why taking the chance on a guy who is old and injury-prone. I guess they really wanted to get rid of Weaver, LOL.
