Mrs. JB and I had to put one of our cats (Tessa) to sleep today. She was a really tough little cat we'd had since she was a kitten. She had battled a lifelong illness and survived years beyond what the vets thought was possible. I love all our pets, but she has a special place in my heart. She will be missed.
Man, these threads depress me. Sorry Jeff. Like I always do when I read one of these threads, I'll feed my cat Weezer some tuna in Tessa's name tonight.
Sorry about the loss. I've had to do the same with a cat of mine that had a stroke and it was only days after my father died.
I got a new kitten the other day, a Pixie-bobtail. That name sounds like a gay cat but what he is is three generations removed from a wild bobcat mixed with barn cat. The day I brought him home from Oklahoma I told him he would have a good life but some day I would have to put him down. I hope I mixed some some of the future sadness with the joy of that day so it won't be as bad when it comes. (but I'm not counting on it)
Hey Jeff, i am really sorry. My thoughts are with Tessa and you and your wife, I will give my cats some treats in honor of her tonight. Best of luck over the days to come...
That stinks...I'm sure you guys gave her a much better life than she would have had otherwise though.
Sorry for your loss. RIP Tessa. I have a devoted little cat and it will be really sad when that day comes. She got really sick this summer and I was afraid of what might happen; she's gotten better with medication, but I know these little friends aren't ours to keep forever. At least you were able to keep her for a while... +
sorry for your loss jeff. not to be insensitive but what does one do when their pet dies? i mean with the body if the pet dies at home or somewhere other than the vet's. i ask because my dog got loose a couple of weeks ago and was almost run over several times. he was walking in the middle of a busy 4 lane road seemingly not even caring that cars were going 40mph around him. luckily he didn't get hit and someone helped me catch him.
