I think the biggest issue between Cingular and AT&T networks is that Cingular uses the 850 Mhz GSM band while AT&T uses mostly 1900? Or is it 900? I can't remember.....regardless, they are going to have some growing pains. We use AT&T at work, and they have the best footprint--nationally as well as Internationally. I think they have the most problems though as well. T-mobile has really impressed me though.
Nope...cant wait. My peeps would be trippin after a while. Gotta buy one today..... I'm sure if I waited and got the new phone a month from now, I would discover that my voice mailbox would probably be full of messages that start off........"why dont you call me anymore?" Then I would have to make a call and say, "Hey b*tch, buy a freakin clue. Its called hit and run....." That would be a real inconvenience to me. I would rather just pick up the call and hang up real quick. Saves alot of time and space. And as for Nokia's.....after my past experiences with them, now way I'm ever buyin there phones again, not even if the come equiped with virtual reality that allows you to make love to a cyber model while your driving or some crazy sh*t like that.....
About to leave the house to go buy the phone. This time, I think Iwill play it smart and either get the v180 or mabe the v220. If I convince myself to get the v220, then most likely I'll come home with the Smsung e316, which isnt that much higher in price. But my mind is tellin me to get the v180 and see how ATT works out the kinks with Cingular so if it doesnt work out, I can cut the contract, go with T-Mobile, and the loss on the new phone would be as bad. So it looks like the v180. Before I leave though..... I just wanted to take the time to thank all of those who took time out of their day to provide input in this thread to make my decision a little easier. Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help. TE
Late to the party but I had the glorified paperweight Nokia through AT&T up until August. Finally got rid of it, have a Samsung on Verizon and it's incredible.
Can anyone comment on the iDEN network offered by Nextel? I picked up this phone but don't know what to expect in terms of reception and clarity.
Everything I heard about Nextel is that it's GREAT in some areas, and worse than AT&T in others. Really hot & cold.
My piece of crap nokia has been giving me fits and I am looking for a new phone (Cingular) also. I have been looking at the Samsung e317. Do you have any of these and if so could you give me a deal? I'd come in tomorrow and pick one up if so. I found it on Amazon.com for $250 plus shipping. Ebay hasnt had much better prices and if I could walk in and buy one for that price I would be there TOMORROW!! Need phone bad!! email me at treymcglaun@gmail.com if you can hook me up.
I got an LG phone that was Sprint PCS compatible and it was the best cell I ever owned....very well designed and good quality assembly
