That’s great news! Not gonna lie I was terrified.

Don’t rush him back, especially because he relies on his athleticism a lot. We don’t want another Derrick Rose situation. Playoffs are coming too. Just listen to the doctors and ramp him up as you would any other time professionally.

Whether you risk the players health or not, we’re going to win less than we were winning with him. We lost a key player. Practice some acceptance and trust the bench, if they catch fire then we’re lucky.

Green and Sengun can’t play more minutes, Whitmore/Tate will not be as impactful as Thompson and we have struggled to win half our games for months now regardless of the caliber of opponents. Logically, there’s no reason we should win more than that without Amen.

At this moment we’re a sub .500 team facing an easy schedule. Adjust your expectations to that. We were winning about half our games then we lost another key player which makes both our PG’s.

We’ll have done well if we go .500 without Amen - who many believe is our best player. Don’t push the starters further into the red please. Balanced basketball.

Will this chain of events change the way coach runs his rotation or develops the younger talents? I assume most see a coaching pattern here. Hopefully he will learn and grow. Pacing the team for the whole season and peaking in the playoffs is an absolute must for long term success. Injuries and gassed out while sliding down in the standings is not the answer.

Benched with little to no development (more injuries so it doesn’t matter this year) hopefully in the future coach will invest more in development for times like these. We should be seeing the Reed show. NOW —> Can/will Cam step up, does Smith have a bag he can pull from (love to see a string of 30 point highly effective & efficient games).

 

I’m just saying that it’s not about coaching experience and MDA isn’t the only tenured coach to have left a player in to get an extra point, 3 pointer, or rebound. Your perspective might be that it’s not that special but Amen and Ime as player and former player might think differently. Also, Ime could have been thinking to pull him but Amen could have asked for 1 more min to get it. These things happen.

Great news. I mean, it still sucks that it happened at all (+30 lead, mid of the 4th q, for a silly triple-double chase) but we can manage these 10-14 days. And even if we don’t, at least we’ll have Amen for the playoffs/playoffs-in (damn, if it wasn’t for this injury I would have been more positive about winning enough games to secure playoff spot..).

 

In all reality, he shouldn't have been on the floor up by 30 in the 4th Qtr. At that point, coaches and players have to weigh their options. Is a stat line more than a possible injury?

Hopefully both parties will learned from this.

 

Anyone else remember this? (Well, then, you too are getting long in the tooth. But the memory is worth it.)

I do think the NBA needs to enforce at least some sort of high top ankle protection shoes moving forward even if these are a bit much. I get that sneaker deals are huge money for the league and right now the style of low tops, but at this point it’s insane that they cannot enforce some sort of protection for the #1 NBA injury because of current style trends.

 

If we went back to high tops fashion would adjust to that. It's not like there are no popular high top shoes right now anyway.
