Ime Udoka on Amen's injury, win over Pelicans 3/8/2025

Posted above - it looked like every rolled ankle you have ever seen in a basketball game from pickup to the pros. No way to tell the severity from the video - some people are more flexible there than others. Just depends on whether that caused a tear or if it’s just inflamed.

The full context that made it more awkward is Amen had just got an easy dunk to put them up by 33 with 7ish minutes remaining - Ime pulled his starters at the next deadball(free throw attempt)except Amen who was one rebound away from a triple double and Ryan starts talking about how Ime is just crazy enough to leave Amen in to get the rebound…free throw is missed and it comes down and Jabari grabs it rather than clearing out for Amen, then he hands it to Amen and says something(likely a “sorry-you got the next one”) and then Amen brings the ball up and twists his ankle while Ryan is still laughing about how Ime don’t care.

Not Ryan’s fault - he was just saying what everyone was thinking but boy the timing of it all was particularly brutal.

 

So true - Jalen looks like he needs a vacation lately - he doesn’t have his usual springy-ness.
