So frustrating. If he misses games now, that’s on Ime. Who keeps a key starter on the floor with more than a 20 pts lead in the middle of the 4th???
The next two games vs Magic and Suns would not be easy, we need Amen. If he misses these games now and we lose, I’ll be really furious, considering he could avoid this injury.

 

Probably. But the head coach should be the responsible guy who tells the young talented player “stfu about stats and sit your a** down, we are up by 30”.

i agree, esp when Cam has not been getting pt and he gets 7 mins in a 30 pt blowout lol

 

Such a ridiculously indefensible choice to leave him in at that point.

He's been playing so many minutes we should have been looking for any chance to get him rest, instead he leaves him (and other valuable rotation players) out there in a game that was 100% over.

 

A decision like this is amplified so much because Amen got injured.

Ime had no reason to leave him in the game. Since Jabari’s injury, he was playing Amen basically all game.

You’d think up by a considerable margin and with a bench, you’d want to sit this guy any chance you can to not overwork him.

 

So do we need pull Aaron Brooks out of retirement to play PG again? He's only 40-41, right?

What if Amen wanted the triple double? Ime was rewarding him for carrying the Rockets throughout the season. The injury could have happened at any point of the game and Amen played only 33 minutes (fewer than his last 2 games 38/40).

I don't see a reason for Ime to keep him in the game unless Amen specifically wanted the triple double. Can't always blame the coach for giving the players some power to choose.

 

You can tell he's the favorite. We're paying for an expensive stat MRI while everyone else gets a cheap 1 view X-ray.

Hah as he should be. He’s got the highest potential out of all of our players.

 

Udoka is the coach. Thompson is gonna get dozens, maybe hundreds of triple doubles. Nobody is gonna give a s**t about this one.

We've got invaluable playoff experience upcoming, he can sit his ass down for his own good and the teams.

 

You’re definitely right there. Amen is a much better distributor and has better court vision than Jalen. I don’t understand what you’re trying to get at though. I only said that Jalen could probably score easily in garbage time, I’m not here trying to argue that he’s the only good player we have on the team

 

To me it appeared he wanted to stay.
