Over the past week, I have been reading so many posts about Gene and totally forgot how many dam movies he was in and he was so good in all of them. IMO he is old school and you could believe him in every role.............Can't believe he hadn't done anything in 20 years..............dam, I am old :D

Really sad details on their death....

Gene Hackman Died a Week After Wife Betsy Arakawa, Both of Natural Causes

Gene Hackman likely died about a week after his wife, Betsy Arakawa, passed away due to hantavirus, a medical examiner announced Friday.

Hackman died of cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer’s as a factor as well, said Heather Jarrell, the chief medical examiner for the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator.

Arakawa likely died about a week earlier, on Feb. 11, of hantavirus, a potentially fatal virus transmitted by mice.

Hackman, 95, and Arakawa, 65, were found dead on Feb. 26. Authorities said at the time they did not suspect foul play.

At a news conference on Friday, Sheriff Adan Mendoza said that surveillance cameras showed that Arakawa did errands on Feb. 11, visiting the Sprouts market and a CVS pharmacy. She also corresponded with a massage therapist by email that day.

That's just terrible. He probably passed because she wasn't taking care of him anymore, and he apparently did not have the mental capacity with his Alzheimer's to call for help. Just...just aweful.

The story just gets more depressing, he was alive 7 days after the wife passed, they also said in the autopsy he had no food in his stomach but was found near the kitchen. If he had Alzheimer's he may have not been sound and could not function, how in the hell can no family members call or come over for that long....................7 days all alone, man that is just tragic

Story turned out the worst way other than being a non crime.......RIP legends.

Another sad part is that their kids had no clue.

Incredible. Truly a tragic end to both of them.
