what baris development would have looked like sans jalen no jalen dominating the ball and jacking shots offense could have focused more on getting bari loose for 3s taken in rhythm keep wondering really what everyones developmental curve would have looked like sans jalen
Or Bari doesn't really develop at all because Green is one of the very few offensive creators we have at the moment, and if we didn't have him, Bari would be forced into a role that doesn't really suit his skillset well.
They need to use Bari more in midrange. Heck even the Pelicans announcers said they don’t understand why they don’t use him more in midrange lol.
Honestly I doubt it would be that different. The first two seasons we really had no other perimeter options. (F&cking KPJ, my Lord. Checked-out Gordon.) Last season he had a career low in shot attempts, still probably too many, but not drastic given the rest of the roster. This season he's been reasonably efficient. You can invent hypotheticals like "what if we drafted Mobley and Jalen Williams instead of Green and Smith Jr" or whatever. Or totally wild sh*t like "what if Amen had been available in the 2021 draft and already has three seasons under his belt". But that's not the world we live in, sadly. Sort of think both groups need to accept reality to some degree. The people who love him need to accept that he will never be a superstar (sorry). The "Jaters" need to accept that he's actually a good player and it will be difficult to find a better starting shooting guard for a reasonable price right now.
Jabari has had plenty of chances and minutes to develop his offensive game, Jalen Green isn't some historic ball hog that freezes out teammates. I've been a defender and still think he'll be a really good player, but his 3 ball has remained inconsistent and his low post face up jumper has not been good enough for coaches to trust it. Maybe he should get more chances on the face up jumper, I think he should based on his shooting numbers, but that has zero to do with Jalen Green.
He'd be on the verge of becoming a perennial deadline trade piece if Bari got more shots.. His role is perfect for him at this point of his undevelopment ... That potential franchise player ship sailed about 3 weeks ago..
16-17 ppg if they dump him the ball every time. He just ain't much of a scorer and electrifying presence. I am waiting for a 40 point game from him for ages and will wait another 3-5 years.
Yea it's Jalen's fault that Jabari can't dribble for more than 3 seconds, fades away against smaller player and refuses to dunk.
without jaylen we would've had paulo ranchero and be neck to neck with oklahomas for the top seed. we'd also be in line to meet the luka skywalkers in the wcf and we'd prolly beat them.
We all know Jabari would be well ahead of the Durant trajectory. No need for a new thread on such woulda coulda stuff. Concentrate on important stuff like how much will it take to re-sign Tate
I'll bet Jalen is whispering in Ime's ear not to play Sheppard and Whitmore. It's the only explanation.
not mad at green of course he's one of the only offensive creators we have because we started him #2 no punishment intended and we were intentionally bad basis first year and jalens second year and we had to develop jalen but reality is reality jalen is a self creator first and foremost he takes a lot of time dribbling around getting to find something and he's just not that good at creating for others and delivering them the rock bari does not have a great handle big deal i knew that already wasn not talking about developing his handle was talking about developing his off the ball game into becoming a great floor space and defender a great 3&d guy simply put there are players that put up numbers and look great on the court and are very entertaining to watch but all the time they take getting their numbers while searching and probing to make that spectacular play that is their specialty leads to too many possessions wasted with the team winding up with less than an efficient shot from players whose main goal has been to get out of the way or try to help said player make the great play by picking off his defender for him white chocolate marbury franchise russ wall gilbert tyreke many more
