If only there was a way to mix Adelman’s offense but keep Ime’s D. I hate how our guys just stand around. Why no off ball actions like endless pics and guys running around tiring out defenses for backroom cuts and other off ball movement like the 2013 and 2014 Spurs. I dont get why more teams don’t play that way.
Not just a physical freak but super skilled as well. Averaging 5 AST as a forward is not a fluke. And almost 6 inches shorter than Jabari (same height as Dillon) but averaging more rebounds, steals and exact same blocks.
this is like asking why more teams don’t play like the Golden State Warriors Spurs had Pop, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu plus a ton of other vets…arguably the GOAT coach and some of the smartest players ever…Spurs were also 2nd in FG% and 1st in 3 point percentage one season, and 2nd in FG% plus 4th in 3 point percentage the other of the 10 guys who have played the most total minutes on this team this season, 6 of them are age 22, 22, 22, 21, 23, and 20…when mediocre FVV is out, we literally don’t even have a PG plus we are 1 of the worst shooting teams in all facets whether it’s from the field, from 3, or the free throw line y’all need to tell me what offense has looked good when the roster can’t shoot for sh*t and has very little PG play
Impossible to acquire him without taking a massive risk. You would want him to prove his health first. If he proves his health though, his team won't trade him. So he's only a viable target for teams with few assets or very desperate or have hit a ceiling. Opposite of us. Zion, Sengun and Amen would not be able to win anything, they would be a bottom 10 offense. Either their efficiency or shot attempts would collapse.
I disagree that a core of Zion-Amen-Sengun would be bottom 10 offense. Adding 25 PPG scorer who is offensively efficient (career TS% of 62.8) and is positive +/- for career should improve offense. We know that Zion would improve PPG, REB%, TS%, FG%, AST% day one. Zion would also improve fastbreak points due enhanced transition frquency + efficiency, 2P%, FTA%, defense to offense and rim protection. Zion is also an elite zone buster to help fix Rockets half court offense. Like Amen, Zion is elite in vertical spacing.
Were you a Rockets fan during the Yao years? I swear I still have PTSD from navigating the soul crushing injury reports year in and year out. No thanks.
Zion will never be the best player on a title level team. That's if he's able to play with any regularity at all. Even if we did trade from him, and he stayed healthy, our biggest problems would still be the same problem. No shooting, no playmaking. Never mind the fact that his game will collapse entirely if he loses any springs.
Zion is averaging 25 PPG, 7 REB, 5 AST and almost 3 stocks on 60% TS. Thats near elite production. Hes more than just a freak athlete. That's like saying if Jalen lost his hops he'd be out of NBA.
