It’s amazing how much lack of research that people on here have done about the Ukraine/Nato/Russia situation.

If this was happening in Mexico via China or Iran, we would be pulling a Russia. Right now.

Putin is doing this for protection. Nothing more. They invaded Ukraine with 44,000 troops. In a country that has 20,000,000 people. That’s not an attempt to overthrow a country. It’s a plea to negotiate. They leveraged being in Ukraine to prevent the west from claiming Ukraine as a member of NATO. Because if they did, its immediate Article 5 and WW3. He knew Europe wouldn’t do that.

Wake up!!!!! Putin doesn’t want WW3. He wants real assurances Ukraine doesn’t go in to Nato.

Trump is trying to give Russia the assurances. What Zelensky and Europe want is WW3. We need to see our way out of this.

Putin has been very open about Ukraine not being a real country and that he thinks it should be part of Russia. Trump is giving him everything he wants, which goes well beyond Ukraine not being admitted to NATO (and Ukraine has good security reasons to want to be part of NATO).

That’s adorable…. You also looked into Putin’s eyes like Bush Jr?

Whyd your boy Putin level eastern Ukrainian cities? Why’d your boy Putin target population centers? Target electric infrastructure?

Why’d your boy Putin steal Ukrainian children?

You know why Eastern European countries prefer West/NATO? We didn’t starve and kill them like the Soviets did.

One of the most unfounded apologetic appeasement posts, ignoring established facts that I've ever read.

It’s funny how the on and off tariffs is dominating the news. Distracting what’s happening with Ukraine and Russia. It’s almost like the tariffs are a distraction

I don't know if it's distracting. There is legitimately so many bad things happening right now that it's difficult to devote proper attention to all of them.

Of all the crazy stuff going on under Trump, the fact that his cult has decided Putin is the good guy is the scariest.

He can tell them literally anything and they will support it.

It was 190,000 to 200,000 troops, not 44,000. (This is the largest mlitary invasion in Europe since WW2.)

Ukraine has a popluation of 40M (not 20M).

Trump is in power. Not biden. You morons can't blame the far left anymore

I wouldn’t be surprised if he withdrew from NATO. Sounds like he is laying the ground work.

If Russia ever could buy a president they couldn’t dream to get the outcome of what Trump has done since in office.

Putin is a war criminal. How in the world can you justify assurances from a guy who commits war crimes like this? Read some of the stories. I attached the link, but included a few excerpts.

Russia/Ukraine: Ill-treatment of Ukrainians in Russian captivity amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity

Russian authorities have subjected Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) and civilian captives to torture, prolonged incommunicado detention, enforced disappearance and other inhumane treatment, which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, Amnesty International said in a new report today.

The report, A Deafening Silence: Ukrainians held incommunicado, forcibly disappeared and tortured in Russian captivity, documents how Ukrainian POWs and civilians held captive by Russia since February 2022 are being deliberately cut off from the outside world, often for years. A lack of transparency over their whereabouts has allowed for their torture and other ill-treatment in detention, and even unlawful killings of POWs, to continue with total impunity.

The majority of Ukrainian POWs are held incommunicado, with their families receiving little to no information about their fate, status or whereabouts.

At the same time, Russian authorities have denied international organizations access to them as part of a deliberate policy to put POWs beyond the protection of international law. Prolonged incommunicado detention may amount to inhuman treatment.

“Russia’s systemic incommunicado detention of Ukrainian POWs and civilians reflects a deliberate policy designed to dehumanize and silence them, leaving their families in agony as they wait for news about their loved ones,”

“Torture takes place in complete isolation from the outside world, with the victims entirely at the mercy of their captors for survival. This is not a series of isolated incidents – it is a systematic policy that violates every tenet of international law.”

Amnesty International documented harrowing accounts of torture and denial of medical treatment in Russian captivity.

Tens of thousands of Ukrainians are considered “missing in special circumstances” by Ukrainian authorities. Many are likely in detention, while others may have been killed. In some cases, Russia has acknowledged individual POWs’ captivity by notifying the ICRC as required by international law. However, it is likely that Russia has not notified the ICRC of the status of hundreds or thousands more POWs.

Civilians also account for a considerable number of those believed to be subjected to enforced disappearance. Russia has long used arbitrary arrest, torture and enforced disappearance to intimidate the civilian population in areas it controls. Such acts amount to crimes against humanity.

Russia’s actions blatantly violate the Geneva Conventions, which guarantee POWs the right to regular correspondence, access to medical care, and visits from international organizations.

On the link below there are pages and pages and pages of disinformation that has been spread by Putin with numerous fact checks on each one to dispute the lie.

It's amazing that people believe anything coming out of Putin's mouth. This is the guy Trump respects. There isn't any reason to support that. Come on people, use your brains. It's not rocket science. Putin is a liar and can't be trusted.

Countering disinformation with facts - Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Kremlin has long spread disinformation and propaganda to achieve its objectives. It continues to disseminate lies to justify its unprovoked, unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine. Below, you will find a sample of the many lies by the Russian regime about its invasion of Ukraine, along with the truth.
