that we would be 5th seed in March. I'd have been pretty ecstatic.

There’s been too much negativity here.

This is a young team that doesn’t have a true star and has been dealing with a significant number of injuries. Regardless of their recent struggles, I think the coaching staff and the players have truly done a great job.

The biggest disappointment I have is that Stone didn’t attempt to bring in some reinforcements at the trade deadline. But that’s over with. We’re still in a good position to make the playoffs. Let’s just enjoy the ride!

    I would've agreed.

I fear the Rockets peaked too early in January while other teams in the West weren't as good and/or improved at the trade deadline.

The West caught up and looks as hard as everyone thought it would before the season.

It's not just about this season so the fact that the Rockets have shown what they're capable of so early is awesome.

Just need more time and consistency.

I’m completely sober and excited about where we are given what the team is. We’ve seen progress this year. We’re still a bunch of young guys playing hard and trying to figure things out. As long as we make the playoffs I’m happy. But I do think playoffs is the standard for what constitutes a successful season. That was Ime’s goal, and we’ve won too many games at this point to slip out of the playoffs and not have that be a significant disappointment.

Im focused on this offseason. That’s when our front office has to finally make some decisions and put together a more balanced and competitive roster.

Everybody needs to calm the **** down. We in great shape for next year

Y’all acting like Stone could’ve gotten us a championship at the deadline. We gotta get Fred’s overpaid ass off the books before we can do that

this season and playoffs gonna bring a lot of confidence and hype in these boys going into next season. I still believe in this team besides Sengun lol

I always believe in expectations vs reality, target vs results.

Rockets have overshot all expectations and they are always in the first or 2nd tier when talking about teams with the brightest futures. Anybody saying Stone should be fired is clueless AF.

Problem is that Stone is probably going to f*ck it all up by overpaying on an extension for Fred. He’ll probably get 3 years at about 35m/yr and Ime will be forced to start him next year.

The team at full strength does not look good, its like their defense fell apart / got figured out. You see teams like the Nets just run a zone and Rockets cant figure it out and lose to tanking teams twice in a week, Getting man handled by a Utah team that is tanking late in the season is not a good look. Its not like its one player, if that were the issue it would not be concerning. Right now they just show signs of being a team that can string together upsets in the regular season, but can be game planned for in playoffs. They won a lot of close games early in the season, a team like this should occasionally blow out a lesser team, those types of wins are not common, they consistently play down to their opponents level.

I am still impressed with where they are this season, but once you start paying guys your expectations should be higher, we have paid two guys already, we have to make a decision on Jabari soon.

I'm more process oriented than results oriented. Great that they are currently the 5th seed, but they are trending down at a time when you'd like to be trending upwards.

    The negativity is well deserved.

And as humans most of us are complex thinkers so we can feel more than one way about things. Recognizing and being disappointed with certain shortcomings doesn't mean you want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Kind of like how you made a post about stopping the negativity and then posted something negative that you didn't like in the OP.

If we can bring in LaMelo or Zion this summer, it’s going to be a lot of fun for our future.

I hope you like watching star players sitting on the bench in street clothes.

Exactly. For a month now the team just plays bad basketball.
As long as we don’t get back winning at least against weaker teams (such as the Pelicans tonight), we’ll end up at 7 or even lower, whixh does not meet our expectations.
The current trend is just disturbing. The team plays really bad, and it feels like the prigress we made was only reflected by the end of January, and since then we’re watching a version of the team who’s not much better than the previous season.

I just think its a process of a growing team. This is their first time playing games that matter basically, every night the game matters, this is their first time experiencing this especially a western conference playoff race.

Previous seasons they were out of the playoffs by now and were playing just to play, but now that random game in March against Pelicans matter, it all matters now.

We finished .500 last year....We're only 6 games ahead of last year's win rate. "Pretty ecstatic" seems like a bit of an overstretch......We were 32-14 and have looked terrible in the last month. Hoping we can pick things back up over the next few weeks.

If the dominoes fall with the grizzlies and some how they get the warriors at home 4-5, and win that series would be nice
to see Curry future exit with a first round win. But it would take a lot of work, and to shutdown Curry but would be a very big
accomplishment this season, if all that lined up like this. Anything else would be amazing. Getting to playoffs would be a big season for such
    a young team.
