I think he looks much worse than he actually is because he has so many guys around him who just don't play defense.

The only teams statistically worse than PHX are 4 of the top 5 lottery teams.

He had an average D rating of 111.875 for the first 8 years of his career (Minny & Memphis), that's jumped to 121 the last two years with Washington & PHX. Both terrible defensive teams.
That's actually better than FVV's average over the last 5 years - 112.6, at least two of those on top 10 defensive teams.

Give me Zion from that list.

Not only is he elite in iso (goodbye to end of game halfcourt FUBAR) but also elite uptempo player (Pelicans are top 10 in pace only when Zion plays), elite OREB (averages almost 3 each game) and is better weakside shot blocker than Dillon, Jabari + even Tari. And he is still only 25 + already has 2 All Stars.

I’d love to upgrade Fred with Harden since Kyrie is off the table. If we want to contend we have to upgrade our backcourt. Assuming Maxey and Halliburton are off the table, we should also kick the tires on Trae Young, who’s actually improved his defense. If none of those options are in play, I’d start talking to Chicago about Coby White.

fred can’t stay healthy and we can’t rely on him as our primary option at point for big money.

he is a nice stop gap, but he is NOT what this team needs, Stone is going to hold on and clutch his pearls until all this fades away....FFS.

I’m not interested in a Harden reunion but if I have to choose between Harden and FVv, give me Harden. FVV defense ain’t good enough to offset his offense and he doesn’t really run the offense that good.

If going to trade for a Bulls guard, give me the cheaper player + better system fit in Lonzo Ball.

James Harden and the Clippers Players are a great fit. Ty Lue holds him accountable. Ivica Zubac is perfect for James Harden.

Ivica Zubac sets better, stronger picks and knows how to roll to the basket, his length is a huge advantage, to catch Alley OOP Dunks.

LaMelo Ball would be a great fit with Jalen Green, Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun on offense.

LaMelo Ball is 23 years old, the timeline fits the Rockets players.

LaMelo Ball health is a huge concern.

I feel like Melo is not an Ime guy. Doesn’t even try to play D. Offensively he’s great. But injury history and only plays on one side of the ball. I think he’d be an upgrade over what we have but just can’t see ime wanting to add Melo.

man, atp, it would take Fred 6-8 weeks to get to 50 points because his fat ass can’t stay healthy

this is what happens when you’re a short 31 y/o built like a southern auntie

Fred is 4 years younger, yet he’s the one who’s more washed while getting paid more

Yeah I appreciate everything Fred did last yr, but this year has been an abject disaster. Fred is not aging well. Never really thought about the weight, but it won’t help him as he ages. Then again, I figured it would have caught up to Harden by now too.

Fred is a good role player, but between him and Jalen there's only like 5-6 teams who we have a better lead ball handler situation than.

Out of all teams currently in playoff position we are maybe better than 1 or 2 at the lead ball handler spots.

I hope if there is a better option out there that Stone and Ime don't settle for Fred. I don't need a superstar PG, but give us somebody that can stay healthy and doesn't have to ****ing slow the pace to a crawl. Also, can they please shoot? I can't take anymore non shooters on our team. I wish we could of given Reed a lot more time, it seems to me that he is a rhythm player that just needs more minutes, however, it's tough to give him minutes when the team also can't afford the mistakes and hesitation that comes from a rookie while the team is making a run for the playoffs.

These last two months have been depressing. It was so much fun watching the team to start the season, now they are just being careless, defense has gone down the gutter, and Ime is too stubborn to change anything.

I hope that the Rockets do a real deep dive on LaMelo Ball and figure out how much of his issue is that he is in Charlotte and how much of it is his personality and will not change.

IF Ball is willing to buy in like Green has - he can be a true franchise altering player.

He is a 6'7" point guard with a 6'10" wingspan - he scores, shoots, rebounds, gets steals, passes and can score in volume.

He doesn't defend well enough currently and he does not consistently run the offense well enough - but all of the pieces are there.

Ball - Green - Thompson on the break would be really nasty.

Ball actually has the physical tools to be a good defender.

Do we actually think he will be healthy in the playoffs? He's missed 130 of his team's last 225 games (58%).

That's also the biggest issue I have with going after Zion.

I can't stand when players aren't available to play. Feels like you're always waiting for that one magical year when everybody's healthy, but the problem is, even then there's a lot of luck in winning an NBA championship. Just costs you too much of your window.
