I think it’s better for the team to have a center who has the balls to shoot the 3. Potentially a better defender too with his size. I stand by it homie

I have issues with "tweeners". Sengun is a tweener. Jalen is also a tweener. Basically both are too small to play the style they play. So others on this list that are tweeners and I'd be out on:

    1) Mobley. Plays like a big but isnt skilled offensively and never will be. Basically worse Bam Adebayo or JJJ. Caught in no mans land and is essentially a defensive specialist.

    2) Maxey/Haliburton. Too small and not good enough on offense to make up for it. The target here is basically Steph Curry. They aren't Steph Curry.

Beyond that, dudes that are either too old or don't love the game. So out on....

    3) Lamelo. Unserious player.
    4) Giannis. Too old.
    5) KAT. 7 foot tampon.

Then there's injury concerns so out on Chet. So basically Banchero and ANT for me. I do think something has been up with Sengun's back though. Have a hard time believing he suddenly forgot how to make layups and leaves every shot short.

Yes but there have been plenty of big men who develop it later and big men tend to take longer. Brook Lopez is a good example. Sabonis was groomed more like Sengun and even he finally added a 3pt shot since last season.

I think it would be hard under Ime, he seems to want it (even sending trainers to Turkey in the summer) but doesn't have the patience like Pop/Spurs/Wemby to let Sengun rack up more attempts at a higher rate.

Notice that when Wemby joined the Spurs, Pop was clearly not a fan of C's who want to play outside the paint. Still they didn't try to turn Wemby into something he's not. IIRC at the time their approach was: let's try your way and if it works we'll do it if not you'll commit to my way. It worked. Wemby's shooting climbed very fast and they didn't panic when it correlated inversely with his rebounding.

Too late now I don't want him doing it while we're sliding out of the playoff picture. Some coach will let Sengun take a good amount of 3's and the coach will reap the benefits. A 20+ points and 5+ assists player who can score in PnR, post and from 3 has never not been an elite offensive weapon in NBA history.

It's not just adding a 3PT shot, history has shown he would ascend an entire tier and even pull up his interior scoring efficiency. That will also increase Amen and Green's ability to finish at the rim, it puts way less pressure on their handle if the opponent rim protector can't chill in the paint.

Right on point, it’s what is better for the team, not who is better individually.

Evan Mobley was listed as a Center coming out of the Draft.

Evan Mobley in the Playoffs has been a disaster.

Knicks Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson straight bullied and destroyed Evan Mobley.

Over relying Alperen Sengun on half court offense is really stagnating the offense and slowing down players, being unengaged on offense.

The Rockets Guards and Forwards are Athletic Players, Running with speed on Fast Break should be the identity. Alperen Sengun not throwing Touchdown passes is disappointing.

Trade Ime not Sengun. Of that list, Giannis, Ant obviously yes. Haliburton, Maxey no because of fit but yes for Jalen. Chet, Lamello no because of injury risk. KAT, Mobley no because Sengun will end up the better all around player. Banchero sucks can’t believe anybody is still buying the hype on this guy.

Alpi’s accolades at that age and this kind of thread exists?

Some insane names in this thread. Why not trade him for Poole, Randle or Vooch while we are at it?

What exactly does Banchero PRODUCE better after he's shown off his handles and his frame? Sengun is better at everything.

    Better scorer overall.
    Better rebounder.
Better defender at a more critical position.
    Better teammate.
    Equal or better passer.

Banchero is like KPJ, it all looks promising until you realize he had a better shot before putting the ball on the floor, and he's not good at the first shot either.

Jalen: 55 TS% and climbing > better than Banchero has ever achieved in his career. Paolo's career is 52.9, 54.6 and 53.6. Tell me again how unacceptable Green's efficiency has been previously. Off ball Jalen is almost 40% on catch and shoot 3's, he's not useless off ball (i.e. when paired with other stars) like Paolo.

In the other HALF of basketball possessions and value, Jalen is an average defender at his position. Paolo is a negative defender you have to hide, easily bottom 100 in the NBA despite being 6'10 250lbs and playing PF.

This board is insufferable with its low self esteem the past few days.

this is the route i choose. i want future draft picks. if a team would trade cooper flagg i'd do that too. we are going to have to trade one of sengun and green it looks and i choose to roll with green. face it, we're not contending soon, so i'd rather just let green and thompson improve and let the rest of the league get older. i want a defensive center who can shoot the three.

You'd be lucky to get a top 29 protected first round pick for him.

Yea, trade the best player on the team that was 2nd in the West before injuries who is only 22 years old. This is a very stupid thread.

Jalen has never had the same impact on wins that Alp does and continues to do even in a down offensive year. I would prefer to keep both but if gun to head, I keep Alp.
