The trade deadline is over no deals can be made until after this season is over. The spacing isn’t just about 3pt shooting but opening up the floor for more efficient points in the paint. The rim protection also hopefully improves the team.

This is a thread about Sengun trades, just giving an idea.

Very very small team. Thompson is the only rebounder in the starting lineup. Not a viable option for Udokaball.

I have a gut feeling he’s more available than conventional wisdom would make you think

They have made him available in the past for star players. He isn’t being shopped for “okay” players but his name definitely has been brought up by the Rockets for all star type players.

I’ve been banging the LaMelo drum but I definitely wouldn’t trade Sengun for him straight up, just for value reasons. Would have to be a Jalen + Whitmore/Brooks centered deal; LaMelo is a distressed asset.

The rest of these guys (except KAT) have more trade value than Sengun.

Sengun is roughly the ~30th-35th most valuable trade asset in the league.

Wonder how many of those teams people think are seeking out Sengun?

Funnily enough Mobley would have been the best to pair with Sengun if they would have drafted him instead

I don’t think any of those teams would make that trade

I would trade Sengun + Tari for Giannis. That one might bite

Pray to god we draft Maluach. I told yall last year to trade Sengun for Alex Sarr

80% FT is not the average for all stretch 5's but usually the elite stretch 5's like Jokic, KAT, Embiid + backup named Jay Huff. Most stretch 5's have career FT under 80% e.g. Myles Turner, Kelly Olynyk, Brook Lopez, Marc Gasol, Al Horford, Daniel Theis even Chet Holmgren.

Many stretch 5's did not even shoot league average 3P% until 4-7 seasons or well into their careers.

Alex Sarr is a stretch 5 that shoots 31% 3P.

    And is a rookie :p

I wouldn't trade Sengun for Alex Sarr. But there's a world where he ends up being the better player. (I'm not betting on it, just saying it exists in one of the alternate universes.)

Yes and he’s also taken over 200 3pt attempts rookie year while Sengun only has 79 in his 4th season. I stand by we should’ve traded for Sarr

Sarr is also a real 7’ on this team

This is an interesting criteria to determine which is the better player.

I always thought Sengun would develop a shot, but the fact that he hasn’t improved his shooting at all and is a horrific foul shooter casts serious doubt. If he can learn to shoot u don’t trade Sengun, who is super young and on a good contract. However, if the coaching staff who sees him everyday doesn’t believe he’ll become a good shooter, I can support trading Sengun. I’d still probably rather trade Jalen, but there’s significant questions with both players’ potential to reach true star status.

I’m not trying to be a hater, but I don’t have a ton of confidence in our front office’s ability to make a great trade with potentially our best player asset not named Amen.
