.....System of a Down, Powerman 5000, Kid Rock, Korn, and Metallica at Texas Stadium in Dallas!!!!!

    9th row, on the floor!!!!!

Okay, my girlfriend actually got them. Damn I love her.

I've never seen Metallica...I've wanted to absolutely forever though.

After that, its on to OzzFest 2000...

I've seen Metallica at a little club called Cardi's back in--oh probably--about 1984. Of the four bands I saw that night--them and Armored Saint at Cardi's and W.A.S.P. and Iron Maiden at the Summit, Metallica was my least favorite. They have improved though.

I saw them again later at Hurst Memorial Stadium in Shreveport, LA back in the early to mid 90's, and that's when I decided that I might be getting too old--because believe me--IT WAS TOO LOUD!

I've seen OZZY too--way back in the day. Motley Crue was the opening band. Ahhhh--what fond (albeit hazy) memories of my youth...

You saw Ozzy when Motley Crue opened for him? Wow, that was a long time ago. [IMG]

My first concert was Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour. I saw Ozzy, actually Black Sabbath last year on the BS Reunion tour with Pantera opening. I was nearly deaf for 3 days.

As for Metallica, I like their older stuff much better than their new stuff. Thats okay, though: they'll be playing their old stuff right along with the new.

Iron Maiden-Judas Priest in the summit, Def Leppard (Pyromania)-Fastway (summit) in the early 80's.

On a related note, I just got tickets for Motley Crue/Megadeth/Anthrax at Freeman Coliseum in SA, also on the floor, but 8th row, not 9th.

I've seen Metallica a few times, the first and best was in '91 at the Summit with no opening act. That was right before they got too popular for me. I even missed my Varsity HS Basketball game to go to it! Anyway, they're too big now, and seeing a show with 50,000 sweaty, testosterone-filled punks isn't my thing really.

Sounds like it'll be a fun show though Lynus if you're into all the 'new metal' bands.

    Pole,

You mean you got to see Cliff Burton perform???

Damn, I sure wish I could've seen him. One of the most impressive things I've ever seen was the video "Cliff 'Em All". The dude made the bass do things no one else could, can, or will. Hatfield is why (most) people go to see them now, but Cliff was the reason back then....

I like everything Metallica put out before "...And Justice for All". After that they went into the crapper.

You don't like Justice? Justice is my favorite! Justice rocks hardest of them all!

I like everything up to the Black album. Load sucked. With the exception of a few songs, Re Load sucked. Garage, Inc. is cool, as is S&M. They need to come out with some new (and better) material pretty quick though.

    Lynus302,

I could be wrong, but I am assuming that you aren't old enough to have listened to Metallica much before "And Justice".

    "Kill 'Em All"
    "Ride the Lightning"
    "Master of Puppets"
    "Garage Days Revisited"

I mean I've liked some (very few actually) of their songs since then, but overall the quality of their albums has sucked.

Thats interesting. When I lived in Dallas (1992-1994). At Texas Stadium I saw Guns and Roses, Metallica, and a whole bunch of others smaller bands.

I also saw several Bon Jovi concerts and several Def Leppard concerts (Pyromania, Hysteria). Man Def Leppard rocked back in the day. They put on a hell of a concert. Especially in the round!!

I am 24. I have every Metallica CD, and I think Justice rocks as hard as any of them. It just so happens that I was listening to Justice that day. Puppets might be my favorite tomorrow. Black the next. I might listen to Skynard and ZZ Top for the next two months.

I bought Load before I heard it (my mistake), thinking it would naturally be as good as the others. IMO, something changed when they cut their hair and put out Load. James doesn't sound nearly as intense as he used to.

I think their peak for ass-kicking heavy metal and undeniable talent was Justice and Black. Those are my favorites, and most of my friends like those two as well.

In my second post in this thread, I wrote my first concert was Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood tour. That was 1989, when I was in the 8th grade. I've been into Metallica since Dave Mustaine was the singer and Cliff was tearing up the bass.

So anyway yeah, I'm old enough.

PS: I hope everyone knows by "Black" I'm referring to the self-titled "Metallica" CD.
