That's a good cope but remember that Trump won in a landslide, its probably for the best to assume that what Democrats did for the past 4 years was not working in the eyes of The American people... It is also bad practice to adopt the mentality that everyone hates Trump, Trump has been proactive in what he ran on. What he ran on is what got him elected and its the direction the majority of the people in this country wanted... Normalizing Trump is the wisest thing Democrats can do but here we are, Democrats are losing the 2028 election to MAGA right now....

Trump didn't win in a landslide.

He won by 1.5% of the vote and failed to get 50% of the vote.

The country is VERY divided.

Also - I agree with you that the American people were not happy with what the message and performance of the Democrats. They lost the election as much as Trump won it. They have serious issues.

I don't think that everyone hates Donald Trump. I think he is a very polarizing figure - were a quarter of the country loves him, a quarter hates him and a lot of people in the middle vote for their party or vote based on economy etc.

Way too early to tell if the Democrats are winning or losing in 2028 - there are a lot of things going on politically and socially. If they work, then the Democrats lose in 2028 - if they fail, then MAGA will likely lose and be marginalized as other Republicans push away.

What I do know is that the Democrats constantly repeating over and over that they hate him will not work - but this is all going to come down to the economy.

The problem with Democrats isn't them hating Trump too much.

The problem with Democrats can be distilled into Hakeem Jeffries going to Silicon Valley to get the "good billionaires" on their side. That's it. That's the problem of the Democrat party distilled into one action. Every issue of the Democrat party can stem from that behavior I just mentioned.

Hatred of Donald Trump seeming performative and not working for the Democrat party stems from everyone knowing the Democrat leaders have no principled positions and are just a glorified fundraising organization.

Democrats can't create a group of humans for Americans to hate like the Republicans can. The Democrats can't make billionaires a villainous class of humans because they have deep relationships with these type of people also. And Democrats have the most basic level of shame to not make powerless groups of humans the scapegoat so they are essentially stuck "defending institutions" as their only playbook. And in a country of growing wealth inequality, most Americans don't see "defending institutions" as some righteous endeavor because they have been conditioned to believe these institutions are feckless and don't do anything for them.

 

That's fair, problem is Democrats continue to stay on that very same game plan. The same one from the past 8 years, not only has the party become a straight enemy of Trump but also run on things that generally aren't very popular outside of their circles. Even with immigration, most immigrants coming from latin america are conservative.... Yes, initially those immigrants integrating here will side Democrat due to status but eventually depending on age and whether married will become Republican....

Honestly, MAGA is probably way more centrist than conservative. Trump is sincerely trying to establish equality and generally good things for both sides. The only thing that beats MAGA from a Democrats side is someone like Trump that isn't Trump deranged but very much obsesses with making America better. Politics can't be about one candidate for 12 years and expect people to back you.

 

You are right in that many maga people try to portray themselves as centrists while defending a man who says "migrants poison the blood of our nation" which is literal Nazi eugenic race science bs.


A lot of right wing propaganda is them trying to portray themselves as centrists. Leftists are frank with their beliefs. They will admit that they aren't "centrist". There is no good faith rhetorical arguments in the maga movement.

 

I've been trying to get people to realize this forever.

Trump won by like 70k votes in 2016.

Biden won by like 200k in 2020.

Trump won by 200k in 2024.

These margins are insanely small.

Nobody has a monopoly on **** in this country and we are completely bankrupt of ideas on what to do.

Honestly, you just described Trump in a nutshell there. He rewards billionaires for positions of power for millions donated to him, and is always asking for money from his supporters.

All he does is flip flop on his policies, and gets sidetracked focusing on stuff that he didn't even mention during his campaign (Buying Gaza, Greenland, Panama, Punishing Canada to make them a state, inserting Billionaires into all the top spots of power) and not addressing inflation, affordable healthcare, and things that hurt Americans most. He lied and all those crying about the cost of eggs and groceries, saying he would change that day one.

He lied to auto workers and farmers about making their life better, and is screwing them with tariffs. He lies about everything honestly. His mission is simple. Building his Trump empire, dealing policies to help himself first and foremost, and stopping anyone from investigating his corruption with loyalists covering his butt.

 

Only a Trump deranged person will draw Nazi comparisons, its getting old bro.... No one takes these comparisons serious, I barely even have the energy to address it in this post. Its so delusional and everyone knows it, even you.....

A lot of the things Trump is doing is honestly good for both sides, he really is negotiating on behalf of this country not on behalf of Republicans. This is where Democrats missed their shot at winning in 2024, they won in 2020 and fully addressed every Democrat's wet dream while completely destroying very fundamentals aspects of our country of a country. They ran on being anti Trump and governed as such but governing based off of being anti Trump had serious negative effects on this county. Keep up the energy thou, its not like you haven't been wrong for the past 3 years or so....

 

Of course I understand Trump is worse.

The MAGA movement is worse because they use genuine resentment the working class has in being spread thin and turn that resentment towards the most powerless vulnerable groups of people.

The Democrats on the other hand have the most basic levels of empathy to not do that but also at the same time can't make the wealth capital holding class of Americans villains because many Democrats are part of that class and benefit directly from that class.

So they are stuck in the middle being this feckless political party that tells a bunch of people struggling to pay rent that the most important thing is "protecting institutions".


So ya the Democrats are better because they aren't fascist. But that is the extent of why they are better.

 

They cut a ton of wasteful spending and now the house just passed that CR to fund it all again. It’s ridiculous. Think about that.

So they passed a yearly budget last September and Biden spent all of it and more by mid January. They were literally sending money out so fast no one knew where it was even going. Much of it to Dem operatives.

So they had to pass another continuing resolution to keep everything funded until September.

Honestly though, both sides work their grift and it gets tiresome and depressing.
