Cam reminds me of JR Smith. He's an incredible talent that can explode for big games but I just don't thing he sees the game at a deep level. He sees where he is (point A) and where wants to go (point B). I don't think he sees plays developing or the potential steps after the current action. I think he can have a very good long career. But, I'd be surprised if he had some superstar level run. He just doesn't process the game quickly enough in real time.
Man, do I disagree with this - he does fine, he just pushes the envelope hard, that is what guys trying to get in the rotation do, he will calm down with consistent minutes, but he makes good passes when he passes, he rebounds well, he has a good BBall IQ, he just needs to settle in.... If he were on a crappy team he would be avging 20ppg and 6 boards and 3 assists right now..... Give him time, he will blow up, maybe not for us, but somewhere. DD
I agree with this 1000%. Cam Whitmore is an Aries Moon. Aries Moon people will fight to win and be on top no matter who doubts them. Famous Aries Moon Athletes: Tom Brady (Leo Sun, Aries Moon), LeBron James (Capricorn Sun, Aries Moon), CJ Stroud (Libra Sun, Aries Moon), Tua Tagovailoa (Pisces Sun, Aries Moon), Jaylen Brown (Scorpio Sun, Aries Moon), Damian Lillard (Cancer Sun, Aries Moon) Yordan Alvarez (Cancer Sun, Aries Moon) and Cam Whitmore (Cancer Sun, Aries Moon). There are more Aries Moon athletes; this list is just off the top of my head. My theory why Ime doesn't like Cam much is because Cam is a huge LeBron James fan and Ime Udoka got repeatedly embarrassed by LeBron on the court while Ime was a player in the league.
Because he played 40 mins last night like it was his final game and was probably gassed. Also remember the starters were very well rested too. I posted early in the game thread not to expect much from Cam or Reed against the Pacers.
He’s 20 years old. And this was yet another game where we could not score in the 4th. You can’t convince me he couldn’t have contributed something down the stretch.
This load management is bullshit.......7 minutes is atrocias, and TATE ****ing played......give me a break. I am getting more and more convinced that Ime doesn't really have a cohesive plan at all. DD
This has nothing to do with Udoka disliking Cam or load management. IIRC, when Cam plays a lot of mins and does really well, he usually follows up with a dud. Rockets were doing great in the 4th until they hit the wall midway. Maybe he could have helped.
The point is that our guys RUN OUT OF GAS consistently in the 4th because they are OVERPLAYED in the first 3, Ime has the Tom Thibedeau approach, guess how many rings Thibs has.....yep....ZERO.... Playing the bench more allows the starters to be fresh, I would bet that our shooting goes way down due to tired legs in the 4th as well.....I don't think Ime has a good handle on coaching all the little things that matter. DD
Cam is basically the 9th or 10th guy on Udoka's depth chart. He only gets to play significant minutes when there's injury, foul trouble, or the first 8 guys aren't working out for some reasons.
This isn't really true. 40-year-old LeBron James and 35 yo James Harden play more minutes per game than Sengun, Green, actually everyone on the Rockets roster other than FVV, who is hte only player even in the top 20. I guess Thompson as a starter is up pretty high (37) but that's because he's the de facto PG when Fred is out (which is bad, bc he is not really a PG) There are many players with a much tougher minutes load who thrive in the fourth (Brunson, Fox, etc). Sengun is at 31 mpg - 70th in the league.
