Yeah, Ive seen plenty of cherry picked stats that make everyone look like the next GOAT for being the first to....
To be clear - NOT a Reed hater, but a hater of mindless content designed to drive engagement. We were all much better off before those tweets.
Rockets shot 45% 3P vs OKC but none of the sharpshooters got real time vs IND tonight + Rockets shot 30% 3P.
im a Reed believer, but are we really gonna use stats from one game to make any real argument for Reed? lol I’m excited to see how he finishes the season and what he looks like coming into next yr. We’ll know much more about who Reed is by next offseason.
Reed should go study SGA, the calmness and shot making, he should go work out with him and steal some of his moves for his game.....both went to Kentucky, so why not? DD
I will take OptaStats' massaging of stats since it means Reed > Iverson and Jordan. White Jesus! lol. BTW, I just decided to look at MJ's rookie season game-by-game stats and .... damn.
Not a great numbers game, but I liked what I saw. He's trying things out rather than just standing on the perimeter and swinging it when he touches the ball. The jumper he hit was pure.
Reed looks WAY more confident even when the results still aren't that great. He doesn't look afraid now, which is at least some kind of progress I guess.
Reed looked comfortable against the Pels and played within the flow of the offense. When he starts hitting more shots and defenses must account for him (which they sort of already do now), he should be fine. Last night, he hit a contested pull-up going right, was blocked in the lane twice, missed a heat-check 3 and a pull-up going left. His 3 assists to Jabari were on point. IMO, Reed sees the floor well and usually delivers the ball on the money. The issue is his shot needs to start falling consistently; hopefully very soon.
Hahaha RS is the next MJ confirmed Fantastic example of how silly some of these cherry-picking things are
