They better get this one after resting most of the team last night. If they do, this could be the start of a long winning streak.
I was so pissed last night as the Rockets were on NBA TV and when I heard that FVV, Amen, Brooks, Sengun, and Eason were all not playing, I turned it off in disgust. I get it that punting last night was probably for the best since they are playing tonight, but I really hope that the next time they are on national TV that they aren’t resting 4 or more dudes.
We need to try to keep everyone healthy so we can get back into a good rhythm. We had that several weeks before the all-star break and then FVV had his damn injury and that rhythm that we worked so hard to obtain has gone bye bye.
My first thought is to warn people not to expect much from Cam (40 mins) and Reed (31 mins) because of fatigue from last night. The starters are very well rested and should be able to carry a heavy load. With FVV out, hopefully Amen will revert back to the comfortable floor leader we saw against the Spurs. On offense, Rockets need to pleeeeease take care of the ball and crash the O-glass. I'd like to see the same off-ball movement and purpose as last night but that likely won't happen with Alpi on the floor. On defense, at some point before the playoffs, they must regain the nasty physicality and chemistry that gums up pretty much every offense they face.
So, our B/C team lost to the #1 seed within single digits, and if our almost A team loses to the Pacers, then how many drinks will I need to pass out before the game is over?
Sometimes Ryan reminds me of Stath from this british sitcom Stath Lets Flats. Probably no one here has seen it.
