What can the Mavs’ offer? They can say they’ll work with KD all they want, but they have to get enough back to retool around Booker.

The 2029 Lakers pick and their picks. I highly doubt we send more than 2 picks for KD or at least we shouldn’t.

This is why the Rockets are in such a great position. The Suns have to trade KD this summer to get any value for him before he walks the next year. Teams know this and won’t give up the farm for him. At the same time KD holds the cards, he can demand a trade to only teams he wants to play with as most teams won’t want a 1 year rental. So the Suns will have to take what they can get or risk getting nothing at all. Either way, the Suns go into a rebuild with or without Booker. Those 2027 and 2029 picks are looking better and better each day.

Meh. They’ll get more than that IMO.

I wouldn't rule out OKC either. Got a bunch of picks, end his career the right way and if they don't win a title, they might think they're a KD away.

I think their return will look a lot like what Miami got for Butler - one starter level player, another dude to fill the salary and a protected pick.

The pool of teams will be small because he will want to go to a contender and there aren't many contenders that have the matching salary to send out and not be in a similar situation to the current PHX team - no depth, no defenders, no one to do the dirty work, left signing minimum players to fill out the rotation.

(Same shi!t Tilman did when he bought the team, and we were stuck with minimum replacements).

    Take Dallas for instance.

    AD 54m
    Kyrie 44m
    Klay 17m
    Gafford 14.4m
    PJ Washington 14.1m
    Caleb Martin 9.5m
    Naji Marshall 9m
    Max Christie 7.7m
    Jaden Hardy 6m
    Lively 5.5m
    Powell 4m
    Prosper 3m.

To get to the 43m necessary, they are sending out Gafford & Washington and one of Martin / Marshall and one of the next 3 salaries on the list - Christie, Hardy & Lively.

After that trade, they'd be about 5m under the 2A with no MLE to spend because they will certainly exceed the 2A to fill the roster.

I was looking over the cap sheets of each team earlier and got to Milwaukee .... wonder if they'd make a play for him in exchange for Dame to keep Giannis happy?
It's an even dollar swap .... work out the draft picks ?? The Bucks would need to add a point guard in that scenario.

We’ll see. Reportedly, GS offered a lot more for KD than Butler. All it takes is one team who thinks Durant will put them over the top.

Agree, it would have to be two separate trades. Durant's value has gone down from trade deadline. I would go ahead and but the bullet on that trade now if you could make it a 3way and send Booker to Minny and take back Ant. Highly unlikely

I’m not sure I have ever seen a tougher closing schedule to what Phoenix is facing. They could legitimately go 2-19 to finish the season. Trail Blazers will definitely move past them. SA could maybe out tank them, but I doubt it unless Fox mysteriously has an injury. I think we are looking at the 8th pick.

I came up with the same conclusion looking at their schedule that you did. I don't anyone has factored in what that looks like. Conservatively, I think they get to 8th but it could get to 5th or 6th possibly. I do think the Raptors are out of the question but Nets and Sixers are possible.

If they were really sending Kuminga Wiggins and draft picks then Phoenix seriously messed up by not pulling the trigger. Or I guess maybe dubs didn’t pull the trigger after KD said he wasn’t interested.

I think the Suns wanted to take this package but KD said he wasn’t interested in playing for GS again, which killed the deal.

I wonder where KD does want to play. LA clippers? Dallas? Knicks? Timberwolves? Phoenix is screwed.

It’s shocking how much the Suns gave up for KD. They trade Bridges, Cam, four unprotected 1st, and one 1st swap. But now KD gets to dictate where he goes and that means the Suns will have to settle for what they can get. After just two seasons with KD, they might end up with just fillers and a 1st. These future Suns picks are going to be worth a lot more soon when it comes to trades. I wouldn’t want to return them to Phx for a one year KD rental.
