I know you're using this in an anti-Trump way, but I can't help but laugh at this because I've always felt like like cheap cars is what caused a lot of problems in the first place. Cars being cheap means people can live further apart which requires more gas consumption, more infrastructure that needs maintenance, big ass suburban houses that get blown away every time a hurricane hits, people unable to use public transportation or walking or just anything that help alleviate global warming and general waste.

Anyways, random thought from someone who lived in Asia and Europe for some time, and believe the world is a better place if people simply drove less.

Imagine actually watching this level of commentary every day. No wonder so many people have rotted their brains.

I agree with this as someone who lives in Europe but the issue is Americans don't value public transportation. We subsidize highways and roads before we do public transport

This is why trump is such a bad businessman and has had SO many failures, the dude has never had to "earn", everything was handed to him. He wants to bring back MFG to the US and he thinks this is how you will do LOL, everything is cheaper outside the USA, we (American Consumers) simply won't pay the prices you would need to charge to sell anything, not to mention it would take years to get a plant up and running. So, in the meantime, lets piss off our closest allies and then take our foot off the neck of russia........are you serious? If I was a Canadian, I would tell us to piss off too and I wouldn't buy anything from America and that's the long-term effect, countries will find other trade partners............

Public transportation in most American cities is literally impossible due to how these cities are designed. And they are designed this way because "The American Dream" is a suburban house that's at least 30 minutes away from anything other than a supermarket. And this can work because cars are cheap. Even gas prices didn't change things because Americans simply found cars that use less gas lol

On the other hand, the interstate highway system is the most successful infrastructure project in the history of the US

At this point, talking about a recession is being an optimist.

The reason why the interstate project was done in the first place cuz we needed a strong highway system to transport nuclear missles at the height of the cold War. It wasn't done in the name of helping citizens

Funny, because the beginnings of it were begun in 1916

    "for commerce and military purposes"

    Woodrow Wilson, 1916:

"The happiness, comfort and prosperity of rural life, and the development of the city, are alike conserved by the construction of public highways. We, therefore, favor national aid in the construction of post roads and roads for military purposes".

One consequence of disastrous economic effects due to Trump policies could be the rebalancing of our culture's spending habits. Too much materialism. Too much keeping up with the Jones'. Too many closets and storage facilities that didn't exist 30 years ago. Billionaires will always be billionaires, detached from reality. But as a society, we have messed up spending habits fueled by our position in the global market, and stupid social media. We also consume too much power. The pain along the way might not be worth it, but I'm here for the new end result if that happens.

I'm confused. Do you braindead cultists think you somehow have an original thought in your brain?

It’s actually proof that much of the left do not have an original thought.

Yeah the morons who stormed the capital crying election fraud in their underwear after their cult leader lost 72 court cases are telling others they don't have a original thought.

You cultists are literally in a cult
