Funny how comfortable he looks when he gets into the flow of the game. Even Ryan Ayyyyeeeeee Hollins mentioned it on the broadcast. These guys are just playing ball, not looking behind them, seeing who is about to come in bc he made a mistake and is about to get yanked. Let Reed play. He’s going to make rookie errors, that’s ok. He needs to. Every nba player does. But I think he’s literally so worried out there about making a mistake that’ll get his minutes taken away, it’s making him play scared. He’s got good, quick hands, but since he’s so undersized, it’s tough against some of these guards. But, let him get out there and play. Loved the swagger too - the tongue out after that tough 3 over 2 guys. Love to see it. Keep it up, rook!
It is an interesting situation: Cam is not ready mentally, Reed is not ready physically. Cam needs to lose the attitude, learn to pass, and defend. Reed will have to gain strength and NBA level savvy. Both have enormous potential.
Everyone has something to work on..... Jalen - consistency Alpi - 3ball/D Jabari - stronger Amen - shooting DD
I enjoyed what I saw from Reed last night. Saw most of the first half, and mid-way through 3rd quarter to mid-way through the 4th. Whatever else comes from this game, it's clear Reed needs to play ahead of AHol, whose out of control shooting and passing contributed in a big way to OKC coming back in the 2nd quarter. there's good chaos (Jae'Sean) and bad chaos. AHol is the latter. Moar Reed, please.
Was waiting for Reed to do this. Been enjoying the absolutely terrible takes from the anti-Reed camp. Some really dumb stuff.
Also important to look at it from Ime's perspective. This team went 41-41 last year and it would be inexcusable for us to not surpass that this year. Coaches in this league are constantly on the hot seat because the fans (fair-weather) demand that the team wins immediately. Ime has no choice but to push this team to win first rather than develop because of how much success we had last year. I think even if we risk losing we should be playing Reed and Cam atleast 10-15 minutes per game. There is no reason to play Tate, Jeff Green or any of the other veterans because it takes away from the development of our young stars. Take some losses but make sure these players can develop so we can win in the future.
Bro if we let this happen the fans would literally riot and call for Ime to be fired immediately. A lot of posters in this forum already have disdain for Ime and if the Rockets are worse than 41-41 from last year, 100% this forum would be calling for Ime's head.
That’s right Captain obvious, but if they follow your lead it will be for another team right? DD’s starting five next year: Lamelo, Reed, Cam, Amen, Zion.
LOL, honestly I don't care anymore. Dillon and Fred aren't our future, and even with them we aren't winning any championship. I got tired of Ime and his stupid rotations a year ago, and I lost all confidence in him taking us to a championship with defense alone, the up and down inconsistent shooting from our main starters, and no big shot blocking center.
I agree with you but the fans and the ownership would be upset if we have losing seasons. I think Ime is a great coach though this team had 60+ losing game seasons for three seasons in a row and his first year we almost made the playoffs. Thats a drastic change and I doubt any other coach would have been able to fix the damage that Silas did.
No, I want to trade some of the pieces not all of them......but, LaMelo and Zion would be awesome....... DD
A terrific game from Reed, at last, and it was great to see. He's still likely to be up and down for a while, but now there's real hope for his future.
I must admit, I'm not big on either one, because they stay hurt but if I had to chose, it would be Zion
There will be two types of fans who will be embarrassed by this thread - those who said he was the next coming of Steph Curry/John Stockton/Mark Price and those who said he was an absolute bust. As always the problem is less whether you believe in a player or not but rather how easy it is to be embarrassingly wrong when you only believe in the most extreme versions of either scenario - like the people who still think Alpi can only be the next coming of Jokic and get really defensive when you suggest he might just be as good as Sabonis(an NBA All Star no less!) ...sadly neither "fan" is coming back here to apologize - they are too busy in the newest threads adopting the next extremely unrealistic position.
