He just came of a injury, gotta give him some time. He was really good for us before the injury. I am sure he can get back to that level and then keep improving.
Jabari needs to shoot from 15 feet only. No threes. No dunks, because he does it as often as Steph curry.
Like sending every big to work with hakeem. Like no, i don’t need capela to post up, i don’t need Jabari to iso, just wasted possessions.
My problem with Jabari is when he tries to take it on himself to score. He’s good as a spot up shooter but when he tries to iso his man it usually does not end well. Perfect example during the OKC game, team was down 6 points and he missed three consecutive shots on iso plays which caused the lead to balloon to 14. He needs to learn to play within his strengths and pass when it makes sense.
I hope Bari can turn things around but if I were the Rockets I'd be shopping him and the Suns lottery pick like crazy this off-season.
same. If I had to guess, 2 or 3 of these guys will be gone in a major trade this year. jabari Cam Green Sengun Tari
For a third overall pick...yes. He's largely been a disappointment. I'm embarrassed to admit I was hopeful he could be 75% of a Kevin Durant. But he reminds me a lot of Robert Horry. It would not surprise me to see him win 3-4 rings as a 5th best player on several teams.
Agreed 100%. He should also not be allowed to breathe at all, only if he makes a three pointer do they give him some oxygen. Otherwise no breathing. If he misses a shot, no oxygen for the next 4 minutes. That will teach him not to miss any shots.
He was hot against Minny his first game back and has simmered off considerably: but I’m not worried because my expectations for Jabari aren’t as astronomical as others on this board. And he’s traditionally been a slow starter. He’ll turn it back around after 10 games. The Durant and Klay comparisons were always ridiculous. I always said Houston Robert Horry was his best bet. The problem with Jabari is when he plays outside of himself. Specifically when he wants to put the ball on the floor and dribble. He’s not even a three dribble max player. Hes a two dribble max person.
Fair to say he reminds us of a better Jabari Smith Senior. Those things run in the family business and with Kwame.
He shows flashes of a more rounded offence game and scoring inside, but he settles way too much for off-balance shots. He did one shot where he readjusted the shot to avoid the defender at the rim and I thought "he's learning"................then he went back into his old ways.
REMINDER: Jabari: 21 Alperen: 22 Jalen: 22 Reed: 20 Amen: 22 Cam: 20 Chill you dorks. Not one of these guys is a finished product. Not even close!
I don’t see Horry but I do see an Al Horford like center once he puts on grown man weight. He in the starting lineup mostly because the guy plays excellent team defense and has a ton of versatility. Throughout his career I can guarantee you coaches will love him and he’ll be invaluable to their rotation. Yes he’s no Durant offensively and not sure why people thought that coming out of college, but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad NBA player. The challenge now is Jabari has yet to mature physically to the point where he can play the 5 full time if needed. The big question for the Rockets is more about what they think of Sengun long term first and foremost. If they think he’s going to get better defensively to where he’s able to be guy in a playoff run, then maybe you think about moving Jabari sooner than later. I think him and his agent are probably going to get real upset with the extension offer he’s likely to get if you are investing in him as a rotation big rather than your starting 5 man of the future. Your version of Al Horford so to speak. So depending on what you think of Sengun probably impacts what you want to do with Bari this offseason imo.
