Castle with 18 points at halftime against OKC don’t listen to the idiots saying he wouldn’t play here
The cope of some of these posters saying the ROY front runner wont get mins when Reed averages almost 1 quarter a game lol
He'd be our 2nd best perimeter player with potential to become our best. He'd easily play here. This is the same team that plays Aaron Holiday and Jae'sean Tate.
3 minutes into the 4th quarter, Castle already has 30 pts. Pretty sure it will take Sheppard like 10 games to get a total of 30 pts.
We should gameplan tomorrow to get Sheppard 20 shots so he can get 30 pts. Edit: Castle might be a worse defender than Reed. But he got 30 points though so hang the banner.
Cam had a game where he scored 27 points on 16 shots earlier this season. Castle is the most promising rookie in this class right now. He still wouldn't be getting big minutes here. In 5 games after the all-star break he was 2-16 from 3. Next game out he got 32 minutes. That wouldn't be happening here.
When you factor in DNPs Reed plays about 8 minutes a game, and I'm counting getting sent to G League as effectively a DNP. Cam is a little under 11 mpg factoring in games he didn't play as well. Castle would be somewhere around there if the Rockets would have drafted him.
and in the 10 games before the all-star break he was 17-43 from 3 which is 40%, so you’re not saying anything there’s more to the game than 3 point shooting… each reasoning y’all try to give for why Castle wouldn’t get minutes here is lamer than the last
30 pts on 20 shots is extremely efficient and if Sheppard had 20 shots he score like 8 pts not 30 since he is averaging 31% FG.
OK how’s this for a number? They are 2-5 since Wemby went down. Castle had his minutes reduced after the Fox trade when they were trying to make the play in. Now that it looks out of reach he’s getting big minutes again. I’m saying like just about every rookie who comes in after a year of college he’s inconsistent and that would make it hard to get big minutes on this team for Ime or any deep team trying to compete. The rare rookies that age that play an outsized role on a contender are usually an NBA ready combo of 3 and/or D or just a straight up anomaly. Castle is not that. Forget Reed. What do you think Cam’s minutes and numbers would look like on the Spurs?
His defense is the difference. That's what keeps him in the game. Reed was supposed to be good at shooting. Without shooting Reed Sheppard is just some guy at the gym.
Amazes me that people can't see that Reed is overmatched and has a difficult time getting his shot off at the NBA level.
Castle doesn’t defend consistently well. That’s not a knock on him because almost no 20 year old rookie does. He’ll ultimately likely be a plus defender in the NBA but he’s generally a negative on the whole right now.
