I remember as a kid maybe late 90s? hearing "blue on black" live on mtv one night. Blew my mind. been on a bit of depressed kick.
I'm pretty consistently amused by some of the obscure bands you pull out. I genuinely guffawed out loud when I saw this one.
I definitely have some artists that many others don’t know about - I credit that to reading on the net on all kinds of sites whether allmusic, digitaldreamdoor, youtube, etc in helping me find these obscure weirdos, lol. You will get a kick out of reading Frijid Pink’s article on Wikipedia:

Maybe I recently posted this. Another source for obscure bands is Second Hand Songs which gives listings of Covers of various songs. The web site is fairly rigid on the names of bands and songs compared to Internet Search Engines, so accuracy matters there. Since it depends a fair amount on listener submissions, there are sometimes Versions - Covers that aren't listed. Even with that, I have the web site as quite useful.
