I saw the same thing and agree 100%. Event though I also prefer FVV off the bench I wouldn't mind him starting so long as he plays off ball and let's Amen be the one break down the defense. He is really the only guy on our team that can break down a defense and make a crisp pass anywhere on the court. Fred is too small to see the whole court and Jalen / Dillon have tunnel vision on their drives. Any Amen lineup where he is a "spacer" is doomed to struggle in half court offense.
He needs to get rid of all the stupid pre shot movements. At least he stopped having random conversations with the ball, but it's time to put it all behind him. He needs a quick, repeatable routine and to stick to it from there on out. I think he'll be a lot better.
How does one 'dominate the ball' when they have zero shots in a 6 minute span to start the second half, after being the clearly best offensive weapon in the first half?
His free throw shooting has fallen off a damn cliff. It’s really pretty unacceptable actually. He’s got to improve it.
This team is broken, the coach isn't helping sort it out......looking for a blowout loss on Monday. DD
I thought I had a nice Sunday going on. Woke up, had a nice coffee in the sun l, got out on the trail on my bike, then took the kids to the beach and stayed away from my phone so I could watch the Rockets when I got home. Now I'm 6 beers deep and mad. GODDAMMIT SILAS
finny thing is Udoka was saying FVV tweaked his ankle again on the first play but still played him anyway. Wtf.
i get it amen is good, but he doesn't do the stuff that the starters need. Bari needs to be a starter. One of the guards need to go to the bench if you want to start Amen. bring back the bench terror twins. the rockets were 2nd best in the league with bari starting, i don't know why you change that just because amen gets crazy stats. Bari went out and the defensive and rebounding stats went to crap.
It’s not told you so yet, but bringing back FVV immediately to work through his **** was clearly not the way to go. Btw what is up with Sengun sloppiness lately, the weird passes, the late reactions and just lazy in a way. Those telegraphed passes as a team is just unacceptable and I guess Ime forgot he has players on the bench who can actually play? We’re going to flame out like this and Ime still does not give me much confidence.
After the game, VanVleet said he didn’t yet know if he would be able to play in the Rockets’ next game Monday in Oklahoma City. He said he did not feel the injury was bad enough to remove himself from Saturday’s game. “I’ve been sitting long enough,” VanVleet said. “I had the training staff look at it, make sure it was nothing super serious, talked with coach a little bit. Obviously he noticed I wasn’t moving the best, so I was just trusting him at that point. If he decided to pull me I would’ve came out, but I wasn’t gonna take myself out the game. I’ll never do that.” “Disappointing loss, no other way to say it than that,” Rockets coach Ime Udoka said. “Your sustained effort and competitiveness has to be there and it wasn’t from the start. And then you work your way back into it and, like I said, turnovers and bad shot selection or just missing some decent shots.”
Amen neede to come off the bench. He is a much bigger punch off the bench than Jabari is. Also will let him continue developing as a point guard while Fred just walks it up with the starters
