Here's what to know about the budget resolution:

What's in the House GOP budget plan?

The budget resolution directs congressional committees to craft their own proposals to hit spending targets, increasing or decreasing funding by adjusting programs and policies that fall under their purview. Republicans want to cut trillions of dollars in spending to pay for trillions in tax cuts, while increasing funding in some areas.

Though Senate Republicans have pushed for two bills to address Mr. Trump's priorities, House Republicans are pursuing one major bill to address border security, defense and energy priorities, along with $4.5 trillion in tax cuts.

Their plan calls for at least $1.5 trillion in spending cuts over a 10-year period and instructs a number of committees to find ways to reduce their budget impact, while increasing spending for several other issue areas. The House Ways and Means Committee is tasked with implementing the $4.5 trillion in tax cuts over a decade. The resolution would also raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion.

Here are the areas where spending would increase:

    • Up to $110 billion in additional spending for the Judiciary Committee
    • Up to $100 billion for the Armed Services Committee
    • Up to $90 billion for the Homeland Security Committee
Here are the committees that are tasked with finding the cuts:

    • At least $880 billion by the Energy and Commerce Committee
    • At least $330 billion by the Education and Workforce Committee
    • At least $230 billion by the Agriculture Committee
    • At least $50 billion by the Oversight and Government Reform Committee
    • At least $10 billion by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee
    • At least $1 billion by the Financial Services Committee
    • At least $1 billion by the Natural Resources Committee
The final product must be deficit-neutral to comply with reconciliation rules, and Republicans are relying on economic projections that show the tax cuts would spur economic growth that would increase tax revenues. Those projections have been questioned by outside experts and Democrats who describe them as overly optimistic. One analysis found that the budget proposal would allow for a deficit increase of $2.8 trillion through 2034.

    So . . .
    Cut Spending 1.5 Trillion
    Cutting Revenue by 4.5 Trillion
Raising the Debt Ceiling +4 Trillion

    So in simple numbers
IF THE 2024 Budget was 100 Trillion

    2025 Budget -
Will have .45 Trillion Less in revenue a year for the next 10 yrs
Will have .15 Trillion less spending a year in the same 10 yrs
SO - That means it will add .3 Trillion a year for the next 10 Yrs
--- Beacse while we will spend less. . .we will bring in less

Then they added 4Trillion to the Debt Ceiling because

Someone explain to me where the savings . . the lowering the debt coming from?
How is this helping Joe Public Non-Billionaire American?

it will help the average Joe because when the billionaires get their massive tax cuts, they will choose to invest that into the American people by creating more jobs and increasing wages

those billionaire tax savings will trickle down to the common folks

tariffs will also help the common folk because we don’t actually pay the tariff, the other country does

They plan on kicking millions off of Medicaid just so they can pass multi trillion dollar tax cuts to billionaires and big corporations. This is the definition of "America first. "

I genuinely don't know who's more brainwashed. The Germans of the 1930s or MAGA cultists

I just can’t get over the depravity of this base of Americans who worship at the alter of Trump.

Just step back for a minute and realize that they are at their most celebratory of Trump during his first 100 days because he:

-Blew up peace talks on live TV
-Made widespread war in Europe much more likely
-Joined an alliance made up of Putin, Kim Jung, and now Trump
-Made a mockery of the Oval Office
-Destroyed the ability for the US to get a valuable rare earth minerals deal
-Made childish remarks to a world leader and threw a fit because he didn’t thank him enough
-Blew our standing in the world to the point where our sphere of influence globally will be significantly diminished.

Of all the things going on THIS is the moment that brings you out from the shadows to be like “fck yeah Trump 2028!!!”

Neither political party has the appetite to meaningfully address the defense budget.

    I find it lamentable.
