Very predictable. Soon as we get some semblance of an offensive identity, FVV comes back and he and Sengun dominate the ball and Amen goes to hang out in the corner. Ime is the least innovative offensive coach I have ever seen. FVV would be the perfect backup and would allow Amen and Jalen to continue to build their synergy for next year.
I know 3 of those (tonight and the B2B against the Nets at the ASB)were total lack of effort and competitiveness games.
Hate how Sengun seems satisfied splitting his free throws now. He doesn't have mental focus to knock both down. Anyone else surprised when he actually makes both these days? The standard is so low we all breathe a sigh of relief if he just makes one.
The worst part about this team is they made me believe in them. We're nothing like the group I was excited about 3mos ago.
Can’t figure this team out. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they just seem destined to be meh…
Not all Sengun’s fault though. The style of play is baffling. Rockets put so much responsibility on one guy to create offense for this team. The spacing is baffling with 4 guys bunched up between the wings and top of the arc. There’s no actions that put pressure on defenses. On the defensive side Rockets can’t stop simple high screens or downscreens. They also let offenses get too comfortable setting up on the perimeter
That 1st qtr showed exactly same issue we been having - it’s not Bari ( Amen ended up with a Bari stat like line tonight) it’s FVV and his slow play and insistence on playing through Alpi … it kills JG it Kills whoever the PF is … Dillion just maintains his baseline same thing happens in 4th qtrs where we lose our leads get FVV out of here, and let Amen play PG and find us a lob threat rebounding PF with decent range if Bari doesn’t pan out
paint defense and perimeter not the same for some reason. Intensity just isn’t there. Kings outworked them today
We been complaining about this all year - folks hate Silas but his offense created a lot of open looks and a more open paint. Everything now is - dribble handoff, high PnR while someone stands in corner and Amen is waiting on baseline and Brooks in his usual spot just standing on wing…super predictable
Believe in what? The Rockets are ahead of schedule. Its crazy they already over performed and somehow you end up slamming them because of it.
The only transactions he makes are the ones that are forced(draft night) and when a team begs and has zero leverage like the Nets(Harden deal and getting their picks back). He's otherwise dormant and wouldn't be shocked at all if he has less than five relationships within the league. I'd wager he hasn't even spoken to half the GMs.
Rockets gave up 58 paint points. They had a gameplan to attack Sengun from the start. It's why they came out scorching hot in all 3 games against us and we were forced to play catch up.
You know, it just seemed like it was the Kings night. They looked really good. They are a pretty good team that’s capable of winning games. The Rockets win games with rebounding and defense. We really didn’t dominate in those areas at all. Sengun had 30 and 10, but he had six turnovers and missed seven free throws. However, it was a team loss.
