Is our current spending sustainable? I don't think it is. 100 days cost a trillion in debt. Debt servicing cost more than defense. Both sides have ignored.
Putin can bring peace by withdrawing his troops. Zelensky can bring peace by surrendering. Between those extremes, countless possibilities exist. The claim that "I and ONLY I can" is a lie meant for suckers. I still hope he succeeds in bringing lasting peace, but his promise of peace on Day 1 was empty from the start - and only suckers fell for it.
Let me guess, ol Casey H commitment to fiscal conservatism& budge now is about as strongly held as his 2016 cyber security chops and his "Russia has nothing to do with Trump" act. What you currently say is boring & not worth comment - what I really want you to know is that I don't think you - and by that I mean you personally - don't know anything about weightlifting, trucks, guns or fitness.
I felt like the message couldn’t have been more clear. Trump has no special relationship with Zelensky or Ukraine. His support is only because the previous administration got involved. But, the idea that Trump is going to go in to negotiations favoring Ukraine’s side and agenda over Russia’s is not happening. He just wants a deal regardless of how it holds up.
Zelensky, Who Stood Up to Putin, Now Refuses to Bow to Trump - WSJ To Zelensky and his aides, the peace deal being considered by Trump—a cease-fire without any American security guarantees—is tantamount to a surrender, considering Putin’s record violating the previous cease-fires in 2015 and in 2022. Zelensky’s attempts to point to that history in the Oval Office on Friday triggered the heated exchange, as Trump insisted Putin would honor promises to him. While American support, especially in intelligence and air defenses, is vital, Ukraine has enough weapons to keep resisting for several months, perhaps until the end of the year, even if it is severed. Ukraine’s own military industries—and those of its European allies—are rapidly ramping up capacity. “What do you mean, we have no cards? The situation at the front has now stabilized,” said Oleksandr Merezhko, the head of the Ukrainian parliament’s foreign relations committee. “Part of the Kursk region [in Russia] is under the control of the Ukrainian army. And in the Black Sea, the Russian ships are afraid to enter.” Last year, U.S. military assistance was halted for several months because of Republican opposition in Congress—and by the time the flow of weapons resumed, Ukraine had lost the strategic town of Avdiivka and other areas of the eastern Donbas region. Mykola Bielieskov, a senior fellow at the state-run National Institute for Strategic Studies in Kyiv, said air defense would be the hardest gap for European allies to fill, if the U.S. pulled military aid from Ukraine. But he was confident Ukraine would hold out—albeit at a high cost in blood. “We have no choice but to continue to fight,” he said. “Both short term and long term, it will be difficult.”
The Republican budget proposal that this administration supported is projected to increase the debt by approximately $4.5 trillion over the next 10 years. While there are cuts to domestic programs, the debt increase is largely driven by $4.5 trillion in tax cuts that primarily benefit the very wealthy. Without this proposal, the national debt was already projected to grow by $23.9 trillion over the next decade. With it, the total projected debt increase rises to $28.4 trillion.
Is the only option to cut spending? Is there not a revenue side? This both sides **** is getting old when’s it you conservatives who are always so sanctimonious about the budget. That House budget shows what you are really serious about.
You come into the White House and and act like a bish? Not smart. Now you get to pay for your own war! Good luck Ukraine!
If I'm Taiwan, I would be pretty nervous seeing what is going on here. Dictators running troubled economies often turn to wars for a distraction and Xi is in that seat. If China really wants Taiwan (vs the status quo), isn't the likelihood of US defense support at an all time low? If US abandons NATO, at least UK/France have nuclear deterrence.
Zelensky made our Pres and VP look like morons.....he is 100% right that any deal requires guarantees as Putin doesn't honor anything other than power and is a bully. Zelensky is 10m times the leader that Trump isn't. And once again, almost all of the aid we sent was in legacy product and ammunition, which we spent money on replacing with newer stuff for OUR military, it was a US military upgrade deal. Hell we sent them a bunch of Vietnam era Bradleys.....FFS. DD
Should the US ally itself with rich modern European & Asian countries like Norway & Korea or with **** hole dictator countries like Russia and North Korea? Someone who understands geopolitics please help me my family is dying
Ssssoooooo Is this winning? Cause this seems to make our Navy less effective https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/norwegian-fuel-supplier-refuses-u-s-warships-over-ukraine/ Rocket River
Trump invited Vance specifically so he can be the bad cop in the room. Vance has always hated Zelensky and Ukraine even in February of 2022. It was a planned ambush and you braindead cultists are unable to critically think. The house of Representatives just approved 5 trillion dollars in tax cuts for the ultra wealthy. Save the bullshit about fiscal responsibility
Zelensky has never demanded for any sort of soliders on the ground. You braindead cultists just keep making up fantasies in your head to lick Putin boots Less than 8% of Americans have a favorable view of Russia but who cares when you're a braindead cultist worshipping a convicted felon
