I HATE Trump and think he’s the most traitorous, objectively stupid, morally bankrupt American in history. But I could do without seeing posts with his name on them in this forum.
And I love Trump, but we better put the politics aside because there is huge diversity of political opinion here. And less than half think theirs is opinion rather than fact. Leave it to other forums.
At this point, it’s beyond politics. It’s the simple mechanisms that cause human suffering. Anyone still actively and vocally supporting Trump is my enemy. That includes you. I take a lot of solace in the fact that you, like the majority of Trump supporters, are old as **** and will be wiped from the earth in less than 20 years. But I agree with you that there’s no room for politics in the baseball forum. I reported the OP even tho I agree with his point of view on Trump.
I am very politically opinionated and as a father of 8, grandfather of 7 the future of this country scares me. I agree political posts and comments should not be here. But at least that initial post was baseball related.
Posting this garbage on this part of the forum should be an automatic ban, at least a temp ban. So dumb.
No but it makes me feel better. Like most areas of society, playing by the rules and following the process has proven ineffectual. We are in the quickly darkening gray area between civil discourse and civil war.
Trump isn’t in charge of the Hall of Fame. Not sure why he is even thinking about Pete Rose after the **** show yesterday. whatever - everyone knows Rose was guilty, the question is whether he should be in the Hall of Fame and Trump doesn’t control that… besides being kept out of the Hall of Fame is basically why Rose’s name came up often the last 35 years of his life.
Personally think the steroid users should get in before Rose. The argument he only bet on his team to win is weak. He was incentivized to manage his bullpen differently than he would otherwise in those games.
Also, not sure I believe he only bet on his team to win. I would actually be way more inclined not to believe that. All that said I’d have him in the HOF and his plaque would mention he got banned from the game for life for betting on his team. the HOF is a museum for the history of baseball. Rose matters in telling that story.
