Drop all your Random Historical Facts here! I was just reading about Vicente Guerrero Vicente Ramón Guerrero Saldaña[2] (Spanish: [biˈsente raˈmoŋ ɡeˈreɾo]; baptized 10 August 1782 – 14 February 1831) was a Mexican military officer from 1810–1821 and a statesman who became the nation's second president in 1829. He was one of the leading generals who fought against Spain during the Mexican War of Independence. According to historian Theodore G. Vincent, Vicente Guerrero lived alongside indigenous in Tlaltelulco and had the ability to speak Spanish and the languages of the Indigenous.[2] During his presidency, he abolished slavery in Mexico.[3] Guerrero was deposed in a rebellion by his Vice-President Anastasio Bustamante.[4] Mad interesting - Internation History is definitely a Weakness of mine Rocket River
When Benjamin Franklin appeared before the king and royal court of France to ask for help, he intentionally did not wear a wig and dressed in old clothes. When Churchill visited the White House in early 1942, he did not wear a suit. Instead, he had on his "siren suit," the clothes he wore every day in case he had to head to a bomb shelter.
In England, the original sources of grammar rules about splitting infinitives and ending sentences with prepositions were never actually rules … they were merely suggestions or personal preference by the authors …and specifically about formal writing, not casual, and certainly not speech. following centuries of grammar books in England started telling the story that they are steadfast rules.
So the setting is the Genpei War. The two biggest clans of the time in japan (taira and minamoto) are fighting a war. and it all comes down to a naval battle in south japan. things happen and the minamoto end up crushing the taira. every taira is either killed, drowns, or commits suicide. the child taira emperor is drowned by his grandma. just real nasty work. but thats not the cool part so there is this crab found in those waters (and elsewhere in the country.. i think) that is said to be the reincarnation of the angry taira warriors. its called the heike crab (heike is just another reading for taira btw) neat.
Sixteen years ago, our government knew how to make traversable wormholes and stargates. https://www.dia.mil/FOIA/FOIA-Electronic-Reading-Room/FileId/170048/

Operation Wetback Operation Wetback was an immigration law enforcement initiative created by Joseph Swing, a retired United States Army lieutenant general and head of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). The program was implemented in June 1954 by U.S. Attorney General Herbert Brownell.[1] The short-lived operation used military-style tactics to remove Mexican immigrants—some of them American citizens—from the United States. Though millions of Mexicans had legally entered the country through joint immigration programs in the first half of the 20th century, with some being naturalized citizens and some once native, Operation Wetback was designed to send them to Mexico.[2] The program became a contentious issue in Mexico–United States relations, even though it originated from a request by the Mexican government to stop the illegal entry of Mexican laborers into the United States. Legal entry of Mexican workers for employment was at the time controlled by the Bracero Program, established during World War II by an agreement between the U.S. and Mexican governments. Operation Wetback was primarily a response to pressure from a broad coalition of farmers and business interests concerned with the effects of illegal immigration from Mexico.[3] Upon implementation, Operation Wetback gave rise to arrests and deportations by the U.S. Border Patrol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wetback They really knew how to name operations back in Eisenhower's day. Some old things are new again, apparently. Reminds me of South Park's "Operation Get Behind the Darkies"
The Tsar Bomba detonation was the largest manmade explosion ever. If you took all the bombs dropped in WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq (1 and 2), Afghanistan, and Ukraine, you'd have a hell of a lot of bombs.
