I'm decidedly anti-Longhorn except for Earl Campbell. But if the Texans draft any, I can at least give them a fair shot to change my mind.
We are probably looking for more depth, and the best replacement for Mixon down the road. I'm cool with that, because running backs have a shorter shelf life, but hope WR and our offensive line are the priority for the top picks.
Not in the zone scheme. Hes a power run guy. We would do well to just keep him on special teams or trade him for some value. Hes also a great locker room guy.
Since I was curious, “Do these meetings really matter?” “How often did they take a guy they met with?” Well …, Nick Caserio’s Texans do. Nick needs to start grabbing those athletic marvels that he meets with as well. He consistently chooses players who are lower on the athletic scale... maybe he feels some kind of way Would have been good adds IMHO Tylan Grable, Offensive Tackle, Central Florida (T30) Isaac Guerendo, Running Back, Louisville (T30) Theo Johnson, Tight End, Penn State (COM) I know Stover knows CJ well, but.... Roger Rosengarten, Offensive Tackle, Washington (T30)
So far they've interviewed 2 safeties that can cover Slot receivers and roam the box. Mukuba's 1/3 of career snaps came from the slot. 3 WRs. All Three are leaders. 2 of them can separate and beat press. Bech can't beat press coverage whatsoever, but always finds the holes in zone coverage. I like that he's different at 6'2. BDN also said he likes to gain knowledge on other players from the players they interview.
I don’t know how he projects at the next level but the CFP game vs UT was the most impressive individual performance of the season IMO.
He's my sleepy 4th rd TE target if we don't get another higher rated guy sooner. He's got solid all-around skills, will be interested in his testing numbers at the Combine.
