yeah absolute best case would be SA and Por passing Phx and the pick lands at #9. That would be insanely amazing and ideal as the top4 odds are 20%.

Its most likely to expect it to be #10 or #11 with comes with much lower top 4 odds of 13% and 8%, same with #12 at 8%.

My prediction is it finishes at #10 which is still an amazing asset, dont get it twisted.

 

With Wemby going down, I don't see the Spurs making any sort of run. FO is going to shut that **** down quick if the current team starts worsening their lottery odds. Would be stupid of them to allow the veterans to get them too many wins and lowering their chances of a top 3 pick.

The only ceiling on this pick right now is which teams are mathematically beyond PHX’s reach. Don’t underestimate the significance of dudes giving up and checking out. Even teams that are intentionally tanking on the org level have NBA-quality players who are motivated to play well. Dudes have to show out to crawl up the NBA ladder. Phoenix literally cannot field an NBA-quality roster without their top 3 guys, and none of those guys will suffer any penalty for mentally checking out completely.

They also have both KD and Book in the top 5 for minutes per game this season. And these are not exactly guys who have been known for playing full, healthy seasons. Playing with fire right now out of desperation--if those two go down they could go on a massive losing streak and sink as low as #8 or even #7. Chicago, Brooklyn, San Antonio all have significantly more depth even though they lack the same caliber of top-end talent (with Wemby out for SAS).

It would be very funny if this pick ended up being better than Brooklyn's.

 

Don't forget about the play in.

Atlanta is one of the teams, the next two in the East are Chicago & Brooklyn who are 7 and 8 in the lottery but behind 5 West teams in the overall standings.

Someone has to make it and one of those teams could play their way into the actual playoffs .... pushing PHX one spot lower.
