lololololololol Luka Doncic is in LA because Nike wanted him in LA. He's not going anywhere for a long long time, he will be your face of the league with the alleged "comeback" story people like Windy are manufacturing.
I would love nothing more than the lakers to go through something like that, losing Luka. But I don’t like Lukas character enough to want him, I would enjoy beating him and the lakers even more imo. Call me foolish but Luka centric ball gives me trauma from the Harden days (though I thoroughly believe the league cheated us against the warriors) Luka to me is like Harden 2.0 who I agree is more clutch in the post but I like what we’re building here.. even if it takes awhile like the Celtics have to win a home grown Championship.
I think Luka showed with Kyrie he has no problem sharing the ball if you get him someone who deserves the ball and will not snap like a twig in the playoffs. If we had late career Kyrie instead of CP3, we would have an extra banner up there. We actually had to take the ball out of Hardens more efficient hands to give it to CP3 because their skills overlapped and CP3 couldn't or wouldn't adapt. Kyrie would have just been like "you be the PG, I'll drop 30 and 5 assists". It's too bad we wasted Hardens entire rockets career whining about how he can't carry a team like Hakeem rather than acknowledging that a breaking down sidekick is not a good enough 1B for Lebron James much less James Harden. I AM totally against designing the team around one player though, agree with you there. It sucked to have all our eggs in one basket while getting beaten by people with lots of help. There's injuries, rule changes and you need something to trade to get something in return. Heliocentric offenses win the fewest titles like 1 out of each 10 titles at best. You have a much higher chance of drafting 2 star players than winning a heliocentric title.
I love Harden and what he did for the city, I still remember how excited I was witnessing his two first games as a Rocket and how he carried us into the playoffs every year after watching my beloved team finish 9th and drafting 14th for three years straight lol and he really took upon himself to prove everyone wrong in 2017-18 by playing amazing defense, trusting in his team more, and most importantly not whining after every little thing. He really became the player and leader we needed and I consider them the true champions that year (only if Prince Luc and Cp didn’t get hurt + rigged reffs), screw what everyone else thinks. But after losing the way we did..Harden changed back to his old ways X2, though his numbers were bonkers and it was entertaining for what he was doing night in and night out, our playing style looked so ugly and I couldn’t bear it anymore. Plus the way he sold out on an “aging” CP3 though to be fair he did start to digress at the time made me start to resent him. But also putting the blame on Morey and Pringles for the way things turned out. Aaaaaaanyways, my point is that I don’t like Luka’s demeanor and the way he whines.. and would he really fit with a coach like Ime? Maybe he changes after this experience idk. If Luka decided he wanted to be a Rocket and embraces Ime’s culture, great, Id support him. But not going to daydream about him coming to us. I want to keep focusing on the players we are developing and growing before our eyes and the team culture Ive always been hoping for that we have now. I always valued a defensive mentality first and couldn’t be happier with how this team is putting everyone on notice. I rather see Amen locking Luka down in the playoffs.
Unfortunately Luka will remain a Laker unless they offered him less than anywhere else. As much as I love Houston, LA is just very hard to beat in lifestyle. Unbeatable weather, beautiful mountains and beaches, and all the entertainment a city could offer.
Obviously there’s basically no chance we can get luka but who gives a crap if he’s an ime type? If ime has an issue just fire him, he doesn’t matter if we’re talking about someone like luka.
Luka automatically becomes an Ime type player if by some miracle he's signed by Rockets + vice versa. Both need to figure out how to make it work.
I just have a differing opinion from you as I just don’t give a crap about Luka being a Rocket. I’m in the camp of Rick Carlisle when parting ways with the Mavs, why wouldn’t he want to stay and coach a future HOF like Luka? Cause most likely he doesn’t want to be coached hard and take accountability. Which is the reason he was traded now lol or as they say in the media at least. I like hard coaches, like Pop, Carlisle, Ime etc. Rather have a team that plays hard then a superstar that does whatever he wants and gets catered to, already been there. But hey, like i said, just my opinion in what I think is best for the Rockets.
“Make no mistake, the people who witnessed Doncic’s last days in Dallas do not paint a flattering portrait of the 25-year-old’s professionalism,” the report noted. “They call him lazy. They talk about the weight issues that were such a frequent frustration within their walls”. https://bolavip.com/en/nba/the-mavs...ka-doncics-habits-since-his-arrival-in-dallas
Luka Doncic even he doesn't believe he will play long like LeBron James. He plays like 30 year old plus James Harden instead of 25 year old James Harden. James Harden at 25 was way quicker and more Athletic. Luka Doncic not taking his health serious this year.
To be fair, Harden was always working on his craft in the offseason and always came back with something new..just loved Treasures a little too much and partying w rappers lol
Thinking Luka would come to the Rockets in FA is like thinking Wemby would dislike being drafted by the Spurs so he'd refuse to play for them.
Fair, a lot of people enjoy the plucky “play hard” teams, they can make for fun regular seasons. Worthless in the playoffs though so they tend to wear off real quick.
Would I be okay if we got him? Of course. But I don't particularly want him as the star player. He's kind of lazy and often out of shape and I too worry he won't hold up physically long term. And I like guys who hustle on defense. But who knows -- those extra state taxes might be an issue for him. And I've never been but there's a lot of chatter about LA going to ****.
High Taxes in LA and literally burned down JJ Redick rented place, JJ literally lost Family Items and Rare Sports Collections.
Not difficult to fix, they need to start building houses with brick and mortar again....and several other stuff. Wood is not cutting it.
Idk about houston, but if LA ***** the bed in the playoffs this season and next, i think there's a good chance he will leave.
