Emotions... Bush entire campaign is centered around emotions. This ad, by his supporters, continues the theme. The primary emotional focus of the Bush campaign is fear. This huge ad buy is a companion to fear... tugging on our heartstrings, and yet, by evoking the horrific cost of 9/11, it also uses fear as more of a back-story to the tragedy suffered by this family, as well as so many other families, and the tragedy inflicted upon the nation as a whole.

The Bush campaign's use of emotions, instead of running on his record and the broad range of issues facing the country, reminds me of a gifted writer of science fiction, L. E. Modesitt, Jr. If anyone wants to look into what I believe we are seeing here, read his Archform:Beauty. Don't misunderstand me. The Kerry campaign, and his supporters, are certainly running on your emotions as well. In my opinion, however, it is merely a part of their campaign, not the one central focus that emotion has become for Bush, Rove, and their comrades.

It sounds like a good ad for Bush. Very positive. I wish all political ads focused on their canidate. I won't vote for him, but a good ad anyway.

i dunno. aside from the 7 minute sit in, he flew around the country hiding in air force one. he didn't address the American people until later that night. he didn't go to NYC until 3 days after. that's 4 things that i don't consider to be examples of great leadership.

Talk about revisionist history. Take a look at the president's approval ratings and marks on leadership after that period. Your opinion is clearly in the minority.
