I think Bari crouching down was him preparing to catch a rebound because to me it looked like he thought Sengun was going to shoot it. He wasn't just standing back.

Maybe. To me it looked like Houston was trying to space to wherever there were not Bucks defenders - when Alpi got the ball Jabari was on the corner on the same side and defenders were closing in on Alpi so Bari started to run to a spot where the defenders weren't under the rim but then Sengun started barreling towards the rim so Bari crouched to stop his forward momentum and head back to the corner and unfortunately that's right when Sengun passed the ball.

It's hilarious the meltdown people are having over this turnover - yes it was an unnecessary risk in a close game and could've been costly and it shouldn't have been done.

Happy to call that out and bring it to attention.

But when those same people are crickets over the night after night costly turnovers by Jalen with the faintest bit of pressure on the perimeter in the clutch - it's funny.

Giannis wasn't even attempting to steal the ball he literally just had his arm moving naturally - and Jalen still managed to lose it. Shame there's not the same meltdown over those more frequent turnovers from the guy (a square) the team is trying to brutally force into the playmaking position (circle hole).

I agree with you that the switch everything line up never works, but I don't think Ime has learned. I wouldnt give Ime credit for not subbing Sengun out yesterday. The only reason Sengun was still in the game is probably because Amen got ejected.

But why would Jabari cut then abruptly stop?

As I said in another post:

To me it looked like Houston was trying to space to wherever there were not Bucks defenders - when Alpi got the ball Jabari was on the corner on the same side and defenders were closing in on Alpi so Bari started to run to a spot where the defenders weren't under the rim but then Sengun started barreling towards the rim so Bari crouched to stop his forward momentum and head back to the corner and unfortunately that's right when Sengun passed the ball.
Udoka confirmed in the press conference the Rockets weren't trying to score on that possession but were trying to play keep away or take the foul which backs up what I saw above. Im hindsight Bari should have stayed where he was at but because Alpi was running towards him, I think he was just moving blindly not knowing where Alpi was going and got caught in a weird spot running alongside Alpi where Kuzma could guard(or foul) both players fairly quickly/easily. Regardless, the correct pass would have been to Eason anyway(wide open in the strong side corner).

Bari stopping that close to rim while Alp looked to shoot makes no sense to me, when he should have been prepared to rebound a miss or receive pass (he had his hands up + looking at Alp) because he was essentially in no man's land if intention was retreating back to corner. Further, Rockets fans have complained nonstop that Alperen is no longer being as creative as a passer this season but when he pulls out one of his no-look Wizard passes he immediately becomes the punching bag. No Rockets player should have been surprised by Alp's pass, they've all seen it before. But Alp is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

This error was on Jabari imo. Alp throws these exact same passes on the regular.

...you missed the part about the strategy the team was supposed to be employing was to space the court and pass to teammates with no defender nearby OR take the foul. Agree that Bari was in no man's land but with the game on the line Sengun went rogue and I think Bari was caught in the moment trying to react to what in the hell Sengun was doing(which was not what everyone else on the court was doing). Udoka said it clearly in the presser - pass to an open man or take the foul. There is NO way that is on Bari - maybe he could have saved the play had he kept moving but Sengun made a mistake and knew it immediately.

What Alpi should have done is immediately passed to wide open Tari across the court before dribbling once Dame started to close in on him - the second he started dribbling he did the very thing Udoka was asking his team not to do because he started dribbling towards the guy guarding Bari when we were trying to keep the ball away from Bucks defenders.

I nearly lost my mind when Sengun went rogue. The SMART and ONLY play, since he does not have good handles, is to gwt the ball across half court, hold the ball and let them FOUL you.

Not sure passing it around the horn especially to Tari who was responsible for some very poor decision making + lazy passes in 4th was the smart play. The most high IQ offensive player on the court at time was Alperen + that lone pass was his only TOV the entire game.

Right. He pretends to be a “critical fan”. The “I love Alpi, big fan, BUT….”

Even pretends to be Turkish, living in Virginia. LOL.

Makes like 2 posts per day and it’s the same ****.

He’ll make his one post tonight in the Spurs thread. (waiting for that one Sengun mistake or missed shot/FT)

Who’s alt do you think it is? rocketchump? hlmbasketball? cantstopjg? Another Jalen fan?
