I’d try to get all of them if they were cut, but the only one I’d trade for is Allen, to guarantee we get him. Once he hits free agency, there’s a risk he’ll receive offers larger than what we can afford.
Yeah, but his large cap number gives him some leverage, right? Lot of bills coming due, that's for sure!
Yeah I'm not sure what his worth is, honestly. I thought the 2/$50M was spot on. A raise when he went down in production, as far as sacks, doesn't make much sense to me.
For context, only defenders to make over $30 million/year are Nick Bosa, Chris Jones, and Josh Allen (Jags). To be fair to Hunter though, his production goes beyond just the 12 sacks. He was getting to the QB with more QB hits and pressures than just about anyone else in the league. Given the huge increase in the salary cap for the upcoming league year, $30+ mil/year is more than reasonable for him to ask for. And I think it's reasonable for the Texans to give him. He and WAJ together for the next few years is a great defensive foundation.

This!! I love Hunter, the man is just a beast, he deserves to get paid but dam we have quite a few players that are about to get paid and someone is going to get left out, but you are spot on, the Eagles are master manipulators of the Salary Cap. We are about a year away from knowing what "Cap Causality" really means.
BDN now: "We will be able to put ourselves in a position to add some players here as we go in the next few weeks. Trying to find some players with a defined role then match up their role with the contract value. If it's a match great. If not, then move on."
