For a monthly grocery bill per person, it absolutely is. It shows a lot of junk is being purchased instead of staples. People need access to healthy staples and they are actually more affordable than junk. I can make gumbo with the good short grain rrice for a fam of 5 cheaper over the course of a month.

Folks, a 1990s high school libertarian debate kid showed up and while a deranged old man President just - this week - took a break from scamming and criming turned the US Cold War victory of 3 decades ago into an unconditional surrender to Russia & North Korea and meanwhile his drug addict neo Nazi pal is pushing the economy into a ditch with a literal crime spree , wrecking American competitiveness & basically ending all of science & health care for decades to come, the DOJ & FBI & CIA & military are run by insane flat earth conspiracy theorists/white suprmacist hell bent on mass murder & casually inclined to genocide. Meanwhile there's a couple of raging pandemics beneath the surface but we shut down our public health infrastructure for a drugged up Quack Kennedy family failson who's peddling new age crystal cures.

Also planes keep on crashing into each other because a dumb drug addict fired all the ATCs, hired a random from "The Real World" tonrin DOT, and also eggs cost $10 a dozen

@StupidMoniker shut the **** up about Medicare & answer for your crimes

Maybe our insane idiot president & his drug addict friends will find the $$$ for these tax cuts when they investigate whether or not the gold bars have been stolen from Fort Knox - which apparently nobody has checked for years, according to the President of the United States and his drug addict friend who is personally running the government along with some random bro Nazi teenagers - but also holds no government job.

( @StupidMoniker that is a real headline of a real thing that happened this week)

You think it is unserious to be concerned that a government will use tax money to go murder people in foreign lands for resources?
    What exactly are my crimes?
Democrats are not happy. Independents are less unhappy. Republicans are happy. Libertarians not broken out there, but I can tell you I think it is only a good start, but I am always happy to see things moving that direction.

Republicans are unfortunately uneducated. When they cut Medicaid, its gonna be real REAL bad. Its not a good start, he has the second lowest approval rating in history for a president at this term, beaten only by.....himself.

... It's unserious because there isn't a connection between that, and the discussion of the ethicality of transferring wealth from rich to the poor.

    Not because murder is unserious.

It's like me saying, when the government was smaller there was a lot more diphtheria and tuberculosis, do you like diphtheria and tuberculosis? That's because of some other sh*t, obviously right? and If your thought to this is, actually no, a Gov handling of a transfer of wealth from rich to poor is naturally also destined to include murder of people in foreign lands for resources attached to it because of XYZ, then yes, the monkey meme was definitely the correct response. That's an obvious cop out and derailment of the discussion.

Give more money to the rich while fking over the poor who live paycheck to paycheck and rely on food stamps, medicaid, etc.

While also increasing national debt, everyone pays more for less benefits while the rich folks get richer. Stupidest sht ever.

Yes. You have very unserious ideas, but you're very serious about them. Which is pretty scary, because you're batsh!t nuts.

    Republican Logic

    We have 75$ in Debt
We have 25$ in Necessary Bills
    We have 65$ in Revenue
    So
We need to cut our Necessary bills to 15$ and suffer the consequences
We need to Keep paying out 75$ in Debt
    and
We need to Cut our Revenue to 45$ by giving the rich a huge tax cut

The point is that the government takes your money by force and then uses it to do things. Some you may like (giving food to the poor), some you may not like (murdering people for resources). It is morally wrong as soon as you get to step one, taking the money by force. Whatever it is used for can make it worse, but doesn't excuse it. And yes, the government is going to do things you don't like.

I, on the other hand, if left to my own devices, would not choose to spend my money in ways I don't want it spent. That is why the best steward of my money is me, not the government.
If you have $75 in debt, $45 in revenue, and $15 in bills, after one month you will have just over $45 in debt (depending on the interest rate), then $15, then assets just under $15.
Yes, incredibly nice. Help people all the time, as and when I choose, without compulsion.

No one with an ounce of empathy will ever agree with you. I will do my civil duty to make sure our constitutional rights are adhered to in a peaceful manner.

As I said before no way you have a family, you’re too much of a selfish cunt to be a provider.

As someone who isn't needing mommy to cook food for them and do groceries for them let me just say you have no perception of the cost of groceries. 7 dollars a day is unhinged especially for a growing child.

Libertarians used to be smarter and call welfare a "riot tax". They understood basic class dynamics.

Empathy will never be a method to convince you of something. You've been conditioned in the machismo culture of believing lacking empathy and being an edgelord is "bad ass".

You want a thriving consumer base that benefits businesses and yet want a society full of wealth inequality that results in crime, violence, riots etc.

The sad thing is the consistency of your opinion over years means you are sincere about this and aren't some 15 year old edgelord trying to be seen.

Fear is what will convince you. And that's sad man. That's kinda pathetic. You kinda are a pathetic human.

The only time the GOP is conservative is when the Democrats are in power when they are in power is toss out welfare to the billionaires.

These closings and budget cuts weren't about getting rid of government waste it was if we cut enough money off the budget people won't b**** as much when we give the 1% another tax cut they don't need.

More frustrated rambling from a guy ignored in the real world. You cannot buy hot food with SNAP. It is meant for groceries. My issue is that it isn't being used for staples which ARE CHEAPER THAN JUNK. Our collective grocery bill is $550/month. We buy flour, grains, beans in bulk online and wife loves baking them. USDA meat once a month from a local source. We don't consume massive amounts of meat as both of us have history of high blood pressure. Lot of frozen veggies and fresh fruits. This is what a I call a staple diet where we don't stock up on expensive junk or sugar. Kids do not like school food. That comes out to just over $100/person

Your original finale discussion point was
which I replied to in earnest and after a cobalt murder analogy/hypothetical, the points have been switched to
    and
which are entirely different discussions. These posts take too long to write for the goalpost to be moved like that.
