I know some of you guys have used flash. I have never used it before but I have the full version of Flash 4. I have no earthly ideas of how to use it. I was wondering if someone could try and explain to me in words how to use the program to have things fly into to the screen and make new frames in the movie or could someone post a link to some Flash help website.

    Thanks

Or better yet, there are finally some decent books on Flash. Buy one and play around with the program using the book's help.

DoD, which one do you like the best.

I think there is an O'Reilly.

Johnny R...Do try the tutorials, then post more specific questions, and we can help you much better.

Thanks guys. I tried to do the tutorials today but they aren't installed so I will have to talk to my school's IS department but they should be able to install them. My goal is to have a flash intro for Houston NHL and JohnyRocket's Fan Page by the end of the School year. I will also look into finding some books and has HP said which are the best? Thanks again for your help.

Not installed? Hmm...I am sure you could get that off the macromedia.com site. They have tutorials on there as well. Don't go into books yet. Unless, of course, you have the money.

I always try to use the tutorials first and if that doesn't work I turn to books, which are always easier to go through anyway.

Are you using the programme at home or at school, BTW?

I can't believe your school has so much. We just got some decent ones at our school (PII 32 MB RAM). What do you need these things for anyway (at school)?

I am using it at school. Our school is a very nice private school, which is really into technology. We all have our own usernames, email address's, ect. Jim Goodnight, who founded SAS institutes that is one of the biggest software writers for business software, founded Cary Academy 2 and 1/2 years ago. We have a super fast connection through SAS’s T3 line.
