It's imperative the Astros manipulate Cam's service time.

 

With the new rules, we could get an extra draft pick.

 

Don't care about the pick IF he wins rookie of the year. Crane is still the owner. The extra year of service time means more.

 

Exactly, but that would mean Cam Smith breaking out of camp with the big league team.

But in the small chance he does, and he is a top 3 ROY candidate, then we would get an extra pick.

Making the return for 1 year of Tucker: Paredes, Wesneski, Cam Smith, and that extra pick.

It's not top 3 ROY. Since MLB and the union didn't agree on an international draft it is only ROY or top 3 in MVP or Cy Young before a player hits arbitration that nets a PPI pick.

Cam's power/swing reminds me of another farmhand we had who used to hit absolute bombs in the minors....Carlos Correa.

 

Very true...but you have to execute and he did it against a veteran MLB pitcher.
