Castle is like a shorter, less athletic version of Amen that doesn't play any defense. I have no doubt a certain type would be impressed by that, but it's objectively not good

LOL, I guess that would be a problem if they were a casual fan that doesn't know what they are seeing when they watch basketball like so many here.

They've had to watch Castle play, trust me, they'd flip him for Sheppard in a heartbeat if it was offered. They've done all they can to give Castle opportunity, he's just not any good. If Sheppard had that kind of opportunity, then maybe even someone like you would be able to see what he can do.

I get it though, there's a lot of fans who can only see volume and can't see quality.

The plan should be to trade Reed after the summer league in July :). I still have hope for his three to come around, but not sure he has the defense that Udoka demands. He gets blown by like nobody’s business. He needs a Hakeem to save his defense but instead has an Alpi.

At what age can someone be considered a bust? 20, 21,22, 23?

Is there anyone here taking BTG seriously? A friend is genuinely curious.

Cuz he wasnt averaging 3 pts on 30% FG. You expect some badness from a rookie not this level of bad.

How many top 3 picks average these numbers on this percentage and become a star?

Bruh dont forget we still have that 100 dollar bet on BRICKPARD being better than 22 yr old Jalen Green. You can ignore me but dont rob me of my money!

Ignore me just to weasel your way out of 100 bucks exactly something that Reedsters would do.

Steve Nash averaged 3.3 points per game his rookie season

John Stockton averaged 5.6 points per game on 18% 3 point shooting his rookie season

Gary Payton scored 7.2 points in over 27 minutes on 7.7% 3 point shooting his rookie season

Mark Price scored 6.9 points on 32% 3 point shooting his rookie season.

I know you aren't really a basketball guy, but these are some of the greatest PG's in the history of the game and some of the best shooters in the history of the game.....and they ALL were given more opportunity early on than Reed Sheppard has been.

While these guys shooting poorly at 3 points in their rookies, all of them still managed to keep their overall fg% to be above 40%. What about Reed Sheppard? Current fg% is 31%, can't even score a single point in two all-rookie games. I'm pretty confident Reed will have a fg% even lower than 30% had he played a few more games.

All of them got more opportunity too...

The biggest issue is a lack of consistent minutes that leads to statistical anomalies like that.

Steve Nash averaged 41% from 3, he just lacked PT

Stockton averaged 47% FG and took 0.1 3 pt a game. Why compare a non 3 pt shooter to Brickpard?

Gary Payton is a defensive player, nobody played him for his offense. He literally took 0.2 3s a game.

Mark Price 32% from 3 is different from 27% lol. Price also shot 40% from FG not 31%.

None of these guys shot 31% from FG so why are you acting like they are the same? These guys would tell Brickpard he not one of us.

The fact that you compare Brickpard to HOF pgs just shows the height of your delusion. Even as rookies they were so much better than Reed.

Nah the biggest issue is Brickpard is shooting 31% from the field and 27% from 3.

Candace Parker and Jeremy Lin gave him the opportunity what did Brickpard do? Keep blaming others though next time blame the wind and the ball for all of the bricks Reed produces.

    God you're dumb.

I was responding to YOUR post saying that players who struggle their rookie season can't go on to be stars... so i listed HOF PGs who struggled as rookies despite more opportunity than Sheppard has been allowed.

You genuinely might be the dumbest poster on CF and that's REALLY saying something.

A casual fan would look at Reed and think they can play in the NBA too.

To me, that's the problem with certain fans on this board, they think Reed should be GIVEN a chance, an opportunity. He was a given an opportunity when he was drafted #3.

Think about it, he was a 6'0, 4 - star recruit, played 1yr of college, didn't start, was inconsistent, yet he was drafted #3! How much more of an OPPORTUNITY does he need??

Maybe we should wait awhile before judging a guy, not like he got to play under Silas and work through the challenges of being an NBA player, same for Cam.

Reed has not been good this year, but he also hasn't had a consistent defined role.

Imagine if ANY of the other top picks were given this treatment....

If players don't get consistent minutes either in the NBA or G League, they aren't going to shoot consistently. I'm not sure why that's a difficult concept to grasp.
