It's like you don't even watch the games. Anthony Edwards's is literally unguardable. Did you see how easily he just crossed Jalen left and right to get buckets. He's having the greatest three point shooting season ever with that kinda volume and you think Jalen will be better? Also he's just physically more imposing and thus a better defender.

Ant is just on another level than Jalen unfortunately. If Jalen fulfills his potential he can be a perennial all star. Ant can be a bonafide superstar.

Ant is bigger and stronger and has better shooting mechanics. He is also confident and plays with unmatched swagger. Jalen at times feels like he's weak mentally or his head isn't in the game.

At 22, Edwards was averaging 26 ppg on solid efficiency. This season, he's shooting .41 from 3. He's basically developed into an almost perfect offensive shooting guard prospect. Jalen has a long way to go to catch him.

If the Rockets had Edwards they'd be battling OKC for best record in the West. Not a knock against Jalen either but Ant is just better.

 

Ant is a lot better than Jalen but at the same time Jalen is also not a super max player, the expectations for both shouldnt be the same. I am not sure if Jalen will ever become a max level player but I am sure he can be a 33M player in the long run. We will also have nights where Jalen can match super max guys while just making 33M, I believe having "super value" guys is where the Rox can dominate the league rather than out talenting other teams cuz we just dont have a generational talent like an Ant, SGA or Jokic. If the Rockets can keep say 5 of the core 7 together and they all peak at the same time then we can gang bang all these generational talents with quantity just like how Rockets beat Ant last night. Its like a typical anime show where all the heroes combine powers and beat the big boss. Nobody want to think about salary and the salary cap but reality is player salary is just as important or even more important than player talent.

But this is also why I dont like us to get Booker, Ant is so much better than Booker and they both make super max. Losing assets and losing capspace to get an inferior and older player to Ant and SGA is a recipe to forever be a stepping stone to other teams.
