Yeah but with blood clots it can occur in diff places I believe Bosh had a clot in his leg first and then he had it in his lung. Good thing Spurs medical staff diagnosed it early. TBH maybe Wemby was right to be happy he didnt go to the Rockets. Considering how much the Rox medical staff fumbled Tari Eason's diagnosis Wemby might have died already before they noticed.
Yeah but as ESPN puts it it is pretty common with baseball athletes, rowers, swimmers who have DVTs in their shoulders. You don't assume the worst and there are blood thinners to resolve it. Bad treatment and bad situations can always occur but we should encourage ppl that those things are treatable and not spread panic way before things are concluded. Takes lots of months though, so athletes sit out. There is a Blood clot protocol with the NBA and players have to pass it to return.
Being 7'3 and as athletic as he is means you are not normal by definition. However, there needs to be a 3rd party source to look at these issues and explain to the public why a few months of blood thinners would ensure this doesn't happen again. The Spurs can obviously cajole their associated docs to saying whatever.
Everyone on this board saying he will get injured obviously meant injuries related to his height, not a medical condition that literally can happen to anyone. Or are we going to start saying that 6'8 guys are also injury prone and can't have a successful career, because, you know, Brandon Ingram had the exact same medical issue as Wemby here.
It's pretty hilarious how the instant commentary is OH NO THE SPURS WON'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS WITHOUT WEMBY! The jackasses are sitting in 12th at 24-29. They weren't sniffing the play-in even with the baguette biter in uniform.
Actually, most deaths happen from negligence of the dangers. I know this from firsthand experience. A knee injury eventually placed me in the ER because the original doctors did not warn me about blood clots and I had to drive 7 hours to get home. Thus my vocal raising of awareness any chance I get.
I do not doubt that but guys like Lebron, Steph and now Wemby are the most protected animals in the bball world. If something happens, then it 100 folds happens to the normal Joe. They have the best doctors and treatments at disposal and the most money to make something heal.
Flagg is now saying he wants to return to Duke for his second year. If Duke wins the National Championship, Flagg might change his mind.
Once their season ends and he's had time to "reflect", Flagg will announce he's coming out this year.
I think Flagg declares for the draft without hiring an agent. He will make his decision based on who wins the lottery. If SA or Dallas win the lottery which is my prediction (fix). He will stay in the draft. If Washington wins he will go back to Duke. Don't really know about how he feels about teams like Utah or other teams with high odds.
