Is their a website you use to watch prospects or is it just as simple as going to YouTube and watching clips.
Just go to YouTube. There are lot of prospects that I know nothing about and, particularly with receivers, it's helped me to identify guys that I think can play as well as guys that look like bench warmers.
I've talked about signing FA OL and I agree that's a preferred route, but this kid will likely be a 10+ year starter barring injuries and I'll take that every time.
He might pan out but I'd prefer Booker or Jackson considering they have been playing and practicing against the best talent every week for years. I will add that Nick prefers players from top-tier programs who compete against the same.
Difference is Caserio/Caley/Popovich are all on the same page. This hasn't been the case when down on Kirby since Caserio became the GM. Caserio grewup with the Pats system. He was drafting players for systems he was unfamiliar with. Lovie = 1960's highschool offense or maybe David Shaw's Stanford offense. Slowik - WCO/ZBS Caley- Popovich, this is the system Caserio knows so he should be much better at acquiring talent in both FA/Draft. Zabel is going to be a really good player for a long time in the NFL. Caserio probably wont draft him since he doesn't play for a power 5 school. I generally agree with Caserio's draft philosophy, but Zabel is the exception to the rule IMHO.
The draft network has some pretty good cutups. If you like OL play Brian Baldinger and Brandon Thorn are great guys to follow.
Nick's preference for OL from top tier schools has netted us a 1st round bust (Green) and a 2nd round center that can't handle the line calls in the pros (Scruggs). He can keep hoping he gets it right or avoid the definition of insanity and try a different approach. Needless to say we need an attitude changer on that OL and whether its Zabel, Booker or Jackson they better bring a street fighter mindset.
And Blake Fisher has yet to prove that he was worthy of a second-round pick. Sooner or later, Nick has to pick a winner on the OL.
I've seen a couple of mocks wherein we take Michigan DT Kenneth Grant with our first pick and I can't say that I necessarily disagree. I think Grant is an amazing talent and sometimes ya gotta take the better player rather than a lesser player at a position of need.
He, along with Settle could transform the weakest part of a very good defense into an historic one. The run D was the weakness as rookies matured. DT is a position we lost the most talent and we lose DEs Hunter and Autrey at the end of the year.
Was listening to NFL Radio and they had a draft guru on (sorry didn't catch his name), but he said a few of interesting things... - This is the year of DL; 30 guys rated to go in rds 1-3 most he's seen since he's been evaluating prospects. - Reviews pretty mixed on QB class and doesn't think any will go with first two picks (Carter/DE #1 and Hunter/CB #2, also likes Graham/DT a lot). - Said there are some good OL, but WR class is weak compared to last years. He did mention Savion Williams/WR as someone that could surprise because he has size and can be a dynamic playmaker. - Was really high on Nick Emmanwori/S; said he's rare guy that blends all of the measurables with smarts and instincts, believes he'll be really good. I missed some of it, but thought I'd share the above.
Pass if you don't like Fantasy Draft Simulations. 25.Ashton Jeanty RB Boise State 58.Donovan Jackson OG Ohio State 89.Isaiah Bond WR Texas 127.Terrance Ferguson TE Oregon 167.Cam Jackson DT Florida I don't think for a second Jeanty will be there, but how can you pass on him if he is? I would envision Schwartz moving to WR2 and Bond in the slot. Ferguson would be a more balanced run/block TE for our new OC. Jackson seems to be a favorite IOL pickup.
I've come across a few mocks where Zabel, Emeka, Loveland, Jackson, Grant, Nolen are available at 25. Who do you pick? All are gone by the time our next pick comes around.
No matter what your evaluation or evaluation source, it will change after the Underwear Olympics. I'm fully aware most of the freaks do not wind up working out, but I'm leaning on taking a flyer on Jordan Phillips in the 4th round. A lower body legend seems like a good thing for a DT.
You're absolutely right! I would definitely support taking a chance on this kid! https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Jordan-Phillips-DL-Tennessee
