Fair enough, I think Caley will be the person letting Caserio know the type of OL he needs to be successful. Seeing how Caserio/Caley/Popovich have all worked together before Caserio should know the types of OL the gameplan system needs.

Plus he will get stronger in a NFL S&C program.

Zabel was a LT in college, but played OG and OC at the Senior Bowl and got rave reviews. Here's a video breaking some of what he did down...

Shorter arms project him as an interior lineman. One pay site I couldn't get much out of except they're projecting him as a Top 20 pick, so he may not even be available at #25. If we could draft him and sign 1 good vet IOL, we could be set with new scheme/coaching.

I don't think Emeka Egbuka will still be there at pick 25.

I would go OL/DL in at least 2 of the first 3 rounds.

I think we would go up slightly (18 or 19) to get Egbuka after the BS CJ dealt with last year.

I do think we grab a DL in the draft.

I think our new OL additions will be vets - possibly grab one later in draft.

This is halfway realistic I think. And it would be a good fit for us.

    25. Emeka Egbuka WR Ohio State

    58. Donovan Jackson OG Ohio State

    89. Omarr Norman-Lott DT Tennessee

    128. Jordan Hancock CB Ohio State

We need to realize there is only 1 DT under contract after this season.

    I'd be happy with that.

I'm worried that if we go WR or DL first, all the plug-and-play OL prospects will be gone by pick 58. That said, I’ll admit I don’t know much about all the potential players.

    Egbula (26); Jackson (55); Norman-Lott (81); Hancock (120)

I wold be very happy if OL/TE/DT in some order were the picks I suspect those will be BPA. Fix the OL/DL and add a developmental WR in say the 5th rd. Add immediate WR help in FA. There are quite a few WR's out there that would be cheap upgrades.

OL/DL in this draft isn't sexy, but you can find a couple of really good 10 year starters in these draft groups.

I anticipate Jackson will be long gone at 55.

Maybe. But who falls who we weren't expecting?

I would take Jackson or Booker at #25, if they're still available. That gives us more flexibility at 55 although my hope is to grab WR Tez Johnson.

Give me one of Jackson/Booker/Zabel at 1-26 and Tez Johnson at 2-58 over Egbuka/whatever OL is there at 2-58. Actually give me Arroyo at 2-58 over Tez.

Booker or Jackson/Arroyo and signing a FA OG would make for a much better OL.

My nightmare is having Egbuka, Jackson and Grant available and knowing no matter who I pick, one of the other ones could have the better career.

It will be tough to pass on Egbuka, but I doubt he'll be there.

The good news is that I believe that we can resolve our most glaring needs at IOL & WR through the draft.

Don't want a young OL, prefer a FA. Besides, Nick doesn't draft OL well.
