One of the lowest approval ratings for both Trump and congress since tracking them.

For a honeymoon period, feels like we're still in las vegas full of fear and loathing.

LOL Highest congressional approval rating in 4 years?

I guess my first question is what is "congress" and it seems that at this point they serve no real purpose, so maybe Musk and his band of incels should audit them and eliminate them to save on Presidential paperwork.

Only job in the world where you can collectively have a 29% approval rating and someone would celebrate. Of course, when you ask voters, they always say their congressperson is doing a good job and it is the other several hundred that are bad...which is why folks keep getting reelected....

Yeah that's why I take the approval of "Congress" with a grain of salt. My view of Congress is entirely different than Commodore's but it's possible we both disapprove of Congress at the same time for entirely different reasons.

The way I view this right now is that because Republicans in Congress have essentially given up their power to allow Trump to act as a King, ALL of Trump supporters approve of Congress in survey's essentially because they are Trump supporters, and being a true Trump supporter obviously means you are anti-democracy, and all in on corrupt Trump Autocracy.

So this Congressional approval rating is likely going to track with Trump's approval rating which will make it appear to be historically popular... when it is historically popular for now essentially going away, and doing nothing but Trump's bidding.

When Congress' approval is back to it's normal low levels it's because anti-democratic Trump supporters likely view Congress as an impediment because you have "Rhino's" like McConnell and Kevin McCarthy there holding Trump back. Democratic voters are probably always going to disapprove of Congress when it's held by Republicans... for obvious reasons.... They are Democrats... and when Democrats hold power, they are almost ALWAYS stifled by a small handful of corrupt Democrats like Manchin, and Sinema who end up essentially representing "Congress" to Democratic voters... while obviously Republican voters in a Democratic majority will disapprove of a Democratic "Congress" because they aren't Democrats.

So a historically high Congressional approval rating right now is a pretty bad sign. It most likely means that there is no separation of powers that the public is seeing at all, and we are pretty close to already being that corrupt autocracy that Trump propagandists always said we were all crazy for worrying about. By default Congress should likely always kind of a be a wet blanket for swift polarizing actions... which is kind of the point of separation of powers in a constitutional democracy.

Did Congress accomplish something recently to cause this spike?

Nearly four years. What a joke.

The only way we will see high approval ratings across the board is seeing some years like Clinton's second term

    The disapproval is too deep
