25. Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan 58. Donovan Jackson, G, Ohio State 89. Alfred Collins, DT, Texas 127. Kaden Prather, WR, Maryland 167. Raheim Sanders, RB, South Carolina 243. Craig Woodson, S, California
25. Emeka Egbuka · Ohio State · WR · Senior C.J. Stroud gets to reunite with his college teammate. Egbuka’s professionalism and dependability would be a perfect fit in Houston.
This would be an awesome draft. Just gotta add another WR or two, a CB/S and I would like a vet OG in FA and lets role. The DL with WA/Grant/Collins/Hunter would be awesome.
I think some of those sports pundits are looking for clicks when they post draft picks of players that we're unlikely to get. Our IOL unit gave up the most sacks in the league. Let's be honest; they suck. To me the only justification for picking any other position than OL/WR at #25 is if Nick is absolutely convinced that the player is a generational talent. We need an infusion of OL talent and WR that can get open (unlike most of the WR on our roster) so that CJ can quickly get rid of the ball.
Lets see what happens in FA and then we should have a better idea of where Caserio/Ryans go in the draft.
In the meantime there are 3 certainties: Death, Taxes, and me saying we should take Donovan Jackson #1! Lol!
There's a better than 50/50 chance that Booker/Jackson are gone by 1-26. If they're gone would you pick Zabel at 1-26? He's worthy of that pick depending on who's on the board.
Egbuka. Too many reasons for fit. OL in FA, it’s the one position I don’t trust caserio, at least not enough for 1st or 2nd rounder..
If Zabel is there it's an easy choice... https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Grey-Zabel-OL-NorthDakotaState Here's a taste of his eval... "Zabel's calling card jumps off the screen - he's a technician who brings controlled violence to every snap. The footwork, hip drive, and natural leverage he displays in North Dakota State's diverse run scheme will translate immediately to the NFL's interior. When I watch him combo block and climb to the second level, I see shades of Zack Martin's early Notre Dame tape - not as explosive, but the same understanding of angles and timing." We need that streetfighter mentality in our OL and he brings that plus he's an advanced technician, and he's versatile--can play anywhere on OL.
