I watched a little bit of it. It was too long and some of the luster wore off in the second half. Cool to see everybody there though
Man, it's been a minute since I watched SNL. I always did enjoy it though, just kind of gradually stopped watching it over the years. I watch more of the Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel, Last Week Tonight and those sorts of things for comedy / news combined. Granted, SNL never claimed to be like those shows, but I like those better.
I think it is recorded on Peacock if you missed it......but seeing some classics back was awesome....Steve Martin, Mike Meyers, Jason Sadekis, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray - so so good https://www.facebook.com/reel/943859471228362 DD
I though it was interesting that Chevy Chase was there, but didn't appear in any skits (other than in old footage). Even Loraine Newman had her own skit. My guess is nobody wants to work with him anymore cause he's such an ahole to everyone. Weekend Update just needed Stefon.
He is one of the last 4, right? Garret Morris, Loraine Newman, Dan Akroyd and him.....and he got nothing, needs to apologize for being a douche apparently. I think Murray came on in year 2. How spooky was that Belushi black and white in the cemetery bit? I mean he was playing like the last one alive....just weird. DD
Recorded it and will watch tonight. Sorry, I still like the show. Some bits hit, some bits bomb, but that's been the case for 50 years. The cold openings are always spot on. As is Weekend Update. The thing that has slipped the most over the years are the musical acts. Following trends instead of setting them like the old days.
It was sooo bad. They brought on the old stars but they were 30 years older, slower and lacked spark. The writing was forced to include everyone but not interesting or funny. SNL has long needed to fold and turn into a smaller production that can focus on quality instead of forgettable volume. Just another sad cash grab that reminds everyone of how far things have fallen
I recorded it after only able to watch the first hour on the night it aired and it was really good, a bit corny here and there but man it brought back a ton of memories.........it was nostalgic, and I had fun watching it.
I watched clips on YouTube. I thought it was just a regular episode with a bunch of SNL alums making appearances. Isn’t that the whole season?
