Good to see Casas is passive aggressive ---- the Red Sox talked to the Astros about Casas, and I am sure that isn't the only team they did.... and I am sure Casas is concerned with another infielder being paid big money.... especially if Devers ends up at 1st base.
lol your 4th best player weighing in publicly on who should make the team and which positions everybody should play…
Jesus christ, that clubhouse sounds embarrassingly toxic. Ultimately if they start winning games vibes will be good regardless, but they've had some ugly public comments.
He’s untradeable with that contract even without a no-trade clause. No team is going to take on a player who will be a rental if he’s good and an $80M albatross if he sucks or gets hurt.
Can’t wait to see Bregman eyeroll and glare at devers from the right side after some boneheaded plays.
If he’s playing really well and the Sox are somehow out of it, I could see a team taking him at the deadline. I find it hard to believe they won’t be in the hunt for at least a WC spot though.
I find it hilarious the Sox passed on signing Mookie to a mega contract and then signed Devers. Mookie will do anything for his team, playing basically any position on the diamond he’s asked to play. Not only that but he is good at all of them too. Meanwhile, Devers is awful at his position and won’t even move for someone who is miles better than him at it. Hilarious.
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/details-on-negotiations-between-tigers-alex-bregman.html So Houston and Bregman were ~$30M apart on the 6 year deal, assuming Bregman countered the same to Houston as he did with Detroit. I’m assuming if Houston had upped their offer to ~$175M/6yrs, he may have taken it. But it sounds like he (and his wife) really wants to be in Boston.
Reagan, Alex's wife enrolled in Harvard business school in Boston and is scheduled to begin her first semester there in the Fall. I'm pretty sure Boston was the goal all along.
Just to be clear here…she’s not getting a MBA where only like 5% of applicants are selected. She’s doing the executive program where it’s open enrollment and the only factor in “acceptance” is money. I’m not sure I buy that being the primary reason.
Doubtful the Astros would have upped their offer…. And word is there was no “sweetened” offer by them to begin with, likely a leak from Boras.
